My family spent a week in Rossland , we stayed at the prestige lodge and vrbo. Both were 12mins to the ski lifts, both were excellent. The town is very rustic and easy to navigate. Red Mountian ski resort have lodging on the hill. We eat and drank at the Josie hotel. Very nice service and food. We rented some skis for my daughter which was easy to do on hill. The ski hill was very low visibly the entire time we were there and the snow base was very low for that Mountian . Lots of rain Nov and December. One member of my group couldn’t fly in all week due to the fog. That said , there was very little few people skiing and we had the hill to our selves. The tree skiing saved us , great pitch and well spaced , gave us references to where the mountain began ended and the sky began. I used my Ikon pass which was easy to use. Walked right on to lifts. The lifts were all the old style undetachable, so they were slow compared to lake Louise lifts. I enjoyed the skiing , their worst snow was comparable to some of the best snow on the east side of the Rockies.

Red has been my favorite mountain to ski. Small local mountain vibes and big mountain terrain. They don’t concern themselves with fluffing up tourism attractions, the mountain speaks for itself. Town is minutes away so no need to stay at the resort, but the ski in ski out options are amazing. We had the best time!

3 days skiing in late January. The snow conditions hadn’t been great in the run up to our arrival but we still managed to find some powder tucked away here and there. There is a great option to meet up with a local ski guide outside the lodge in the morning who will show you the mountain, help you find some less well known or off the beaten track gems and powder stashes, depending on what you’re looking for, as well as throwing a few helpful tips in too. These are all local volunteers who know the mountain well and it is free (other than buying them a beer in the bar at the end of the day). Great that you can pretty much ski the whole mountain 360 degrees, great range of terrain and pistes and awesome tree runs, probably my favourite trees anywhere. It’s a fairly quiet mountain, not busy when we were there. Nightlife is a little limited but adequate for our needs (few beers and some food - nice restaurant in the hotel).
Wholeheartedly recommended!

Red mountain is truly steep and deep with champagne powder guaranteed. Mountain hosts are available from 9 o’clock in the morning and after lunch who will show you around the mountain free of charge and are extremely professional hospitality from the Canadian people is of the best I’ve seen with small Hughes and very polite skiers and boards five star all the way, even six in most categories.

Good conditions, well groomed, good variety of runs, nice weather, was a beautiful day, I like the paradise side more but the whole hill is great for skiing and has a great variety of any type of run you prefer

Really great fall line, amazing tree skiing, incredible scenery. The on-hill lodge in Paradise is wonderful, warm and bright. There are several options for food at the base lodge and another at the bottom of Topping Creek. Definitely a diamond in the rough, but so much Canadian charm.

Good hill. Super mellow vibe. No rush, no stress, just people cruising and doing their thing. It’s quiet in a good way—like you’re not fighting anyone for space. You gotta sniff around a bit, but there’s legit powder hiding if you’re willing to dip off the obvious lines. Trees slap, side hits pop up when you’re not even looking for them. Nothing too serious, just fun skiing. Lifts are chill, laps are easy, and you kinda lose track of time. Not trying to prove anything , solid hill would rate a 7/10, the town nearby is a chill calm place, good restaurants for an after ski bar run, well maintained, chiller vibe

It’s really hard to get to. It’s in the middle of nowhere. There are less than 10 bars/ restaurants in the entire town of about 4K people. Most of the lifts are old and slow. The park sucks balls! But when it pukes snow for days the terrain is RAD! Glades, off piste, and slack country hiking are a must!
And winter carnival is super dope just saying…

Beautiful and different terrain, it is nice to have a lodge virtually on top of the mountain. The face of Red Mountain is still a nice challenging run.

The only, one and only, criticism I might have of Red is that it's not easy to get to. But that's likely also what makes it such a great pleasure. A HUGE ski area with wildly varied terrain and very little skier traffic to affect the experience. Thinking I'll go again this year ...

Had a blast at Red Mountain these last couple days! This was my first time at the mountain and let me tell you it did not disappoint! We were lucky enough to get a bunch of new snow the weekend prior, so the terrain was endless. Great groomers. Great off-piste. Awesome views! Will definitely make an annual trip to this mountain moving forward!

Red Mountain is an awesome hill to ski on. Good powder, good trails - they range from easy to hard. The is located in the Kootneays of BC which means the weather is usually sunny and clear skies. Rossland is located about 10-15 minutes from Red Resort and offers lots of options for eating, having a good pint, warming up from a coffee and muffin.

The skiing at Red is unparalleled. Its steep tree skiing and terrain diversity are amazing, but the best part is the lack of people there. No lines at the lifts, only a short wait to get a beer at Rafters after a day of shredding!

Remote resort with spectacular scenic views from the top. There is a good variety of terrain. There are often mid-mountain clouds to ski through that do affect visibility. The chairlifts are slower.

Fun hill. On a busy day it feels quiet. Amazing terrain for a smaller resort. Fun on hill restaurants. Cute town. Lifts are pretty old and slow but overall the terrain is great and you never spend much time in line.
