Mt Seymour is the most family friendly mountain near Vancouver. The management really cares for the employees and customers and makes for a great atmosphere. The lines are never crazy and the runs are super fun. I could spend hours here

Great hill to ski with my friends who are beginners. There was something for everyone and views are stunning

Love Seymour so much we decided to get seasons passes., only issue is that we had to wait almost an hour to get up the mountain and park with traffic which cut into our 4 hour window

Local snowboarder been buying season passes at Seymour for years now, smaller mountain but has everything you need to do what ever you want

All the runs are groomed according to their staff so I guess theres no off piste terrain, Im not sure. Indeed the runs I have encountered are all groomed and short. The chairs are slow. Good for a beginner.

Amazing family run resort!
As they don't have or rely on snow making machines, the snow is softer and better condition than other nearby resorts.
They offer a lot of value for money as well, and really care about the people that work and visit there.

Was here for my time as a beginner, great resort to learn on. Bunny hill is a magic carpet which helps a lot for riding. Once past beginner the slopes will seem easy and may probably want to move on to larger resorts. Bonus is carpark proximity to lifts and lodges is the best out of the three Vancouver resorts

To me cypress is a mountain you go to if you wanna go on some fun tree runs. As a local bc mainland resident there are three main mountains to go to. Grouse, cypress, and Seymour. Each have a list of pros and cons. I dont like how Seymour has a lift that funnels all riders through a smallish bend around the peak.
My favourite thing about Seymour is the tree runs. I havent been in a long time due to poor snowboarding conditions in bc (too warm) but what I remember is the fast tree runs with tight banks through the forest.

Tried a season here and regretted it versus local options. They use an online reservation system that opens at 7 am aka. working hours and sells out in minutes for limited passholder reservation slots.
Longer lines than grouse but less than cypress. Good family friendly resort but the entire resort is split into 3 spots with flat traverses in-between you can't link the top to the bottom without traversing multiple times. Good tree runs for learning with wider spacing and many lines.
Would not recommend until they change the reservation system for a season pass

Its a cool place that is great for beginners. I started on this mountain, and it has been great to me, but definitely lacks in size and quality of runs. Definitely would rather go to another ski hill if you were more advanced. Overall okay hill thats pretty small and good for beginners.
