What Skiers Say About Grouse Mountain

Grouse Mountain attracts primarily beginner to intermediate skiers and snowboarders, with many users visiting for its proximity to Vancouver (30 minutes to 1 hour from the city). Reviews consistently highlight the stunning city and ocean views, accessible public transport links, and efficient night skiing operations. The terrain is described as limited and repetitive, with runs suitable for families and learners but lacking variation for advanced riders. Food pricing is frequently criticised as expensive, and several users note that low elevation results in icy conditions and inconsistent snow quality. The terrain park receives positive mentions from park-focused riders. Weekend crowding and gondola wait times are common complaints.

Grouse is great for accessibility & parking. Outdoor dining is almost nonexistent. Grooming is fair to good. Typical day for me is a couple of hours or it gets boring. Overall nice to have local mountains.

The best thing about Grouse is its proximity to the city, making it highly convenient to get to compared to any of the other mountains in the surrounding area. It is slightly cheaper than Cypress, but I'd say it's not as worth Cypress. For someone who sticks to the groomed slopes the most, the runs get pretty boring and repetitive fast. It's also incredibly loud and crowded there, with lines being quite congested. For just a few dollars more, you're better off at Cypress for way more runs to explore. However, I will say that the UX of booking with Grouse is way better and more intuitive, so that's definitely a plus. Overall, good beginner mountain and easily accessible but would get boring quickly if you only ever went to Grouse.

Grouse has the best park for the north shore mountains. Accommodation is terrible throughout all of North Van. Food at grouse is mediocre and expensive. I would only recommend for the park.

Great little mountain. Ease of access, parking are excellent. Ideal for a few afternoon laps but terrain gets boring after a couple of hours. Best value season pass of the three local mountains. Managing crowds could improve. Very lacking in spring f&b, no outdoor patios, not even a Beaver Tails shack. Natural fireplace in day lodge should be used all winter. Nothing says "I don't care" like an empty fireplace.

Grouse mountain is a really cool fun touristy resort but it's not somewhere I'd pick to go skiing. They have all sorts of activities year round and is definitely a big touristy spot. If you're just visiting the city and you're new to skiing then I'd definitely recommend going to grouse and spending the day. If you're more advanced and like a bit more diversity and more of a back mountain experience, then I'd recommend going to Cypress or going on a trip outside Vancouver to a bigger resort. That being said the times I've been to Grouse were still pretty fun!

The mountain is the best in the three ski resorts in Vancouver. It is a pretty small resort with only for chair lifts and short runs. It does offer most of the terrains you need, and satisfy all types of skier. The terrain park in the best park of it, with all sort of rails, jumps and jibs. Overall its a good mountain for all types of skiers and snowboarders

Really enjoyed skiing at grouse, all round good time!

The snow school team are very friendly and knowledgeable, able to provide advice for almost any level of rider.

The cafe, lupins, is reasonably priced and nice food. Alpines is the best option for a nice big dinner after a long day, whereas the observatory is a little pricey.

Great time all round.

Grouse is a bit expensive for what it presents in terms of options for riders. Theres no Nordic area, and runs are limited with big jumps in difficulty from easy greens to hard blues.

Grouse mountain is an amazing mountain with terrain for any level and/or type of skier. The only downsides of the mountain is that the food is completely overpriced, and even though its not the mountains fault, there is almost constantly fog (poor visibility).

Grouse has a great view of Vancouver and everywhere surrounding. Lots of people dont like the skyride but it is convenient when its a deep powder day and the roads aren't clear. Not much of a line if any at the blueberry bowl when it does open.
