What Skiers Say About Grouse Mountain

Grouse Mountain attracts primarily beginner to intermediate skiers and snowboarders, with many users visiting for its proximity to Vancouver (30 minutes to 1 hour from the city). Reviews consistently highlight the stunning city and ocean views, accessible public transport links, and efficient night skiing operations. The terrain is described as limited and repetitive, with runs suitable for families and learners but lacking variation for advanced riders. Food pricing is frequently criticised as expensive, and several users note that low elevation results in icy conditions and inconsistent snow quality. The terrain park receives positive mentions from park-focused riders. Weekend crowding and gondola wait times are common complaints.

This resort is pretty small with limited runs open early in the season. Still, the resort is nicely maintained, has some great runs and staff are very friendly. Amazing views of Vancouver from some of the runs, pretty unique ski resort in that aspect.

Its definitely a top mountain to snowboard and ski on however aside from those activities its also great for family activities like snowshoeing and site seeing. Compared to the other mountains in the area its great, however if you are in the area and want to enjoy purely skiing and snowboarding cypress it the better option.

Great local resort for learning to board and the best terrain park no contest. Limited off piste and steeper terrain but the blue/black half of the resort rarely has lines as the resort is more popular with beginners and family's.

Good value compared to cypress as a daily driver between trips to big mountain resorts

This mountain is by far the worst mountain I have ever been to in Canada Ive been here multiple times and Im not sure why I keep coming back lets start with the food. It is $40 if you wanted a full pizza and $8 for one slice which is outrageous but whatever normally foods expensive but for someones whos a type one diabetic even one cheap food option would be nice but no not a single cheap option now the snowboarding and skiing is awful the lift up is crazy the lines are a big jumble they dont know what they are doing they have one person like a traffic control officer asking how many people you are and tell you who to go with and the line is on a hill so if your skiing with no poles my brother had to ask someone to borrow there pole and even me as a snowboarder Im struggling to stand still of the icy hill when your up on the mountain it is just skier sided but even for skiers it sucks there are multiple spots well going down where you just lose momentum because its all flat terrain and as we all know if you snowboard you have to do those silly bunny hops this is by far the worst mountain and I dont think Ill ever be going back

Snowboarding at Grouse is smooth and easy to learn for beginners(highly recommend), insane views of Vancouver, and night riding feels magical with the city lit up below. Whether youre hitting the park or just cruising, the vibes are unbeatable, foods a lil expensive but good options and quality overall, and lounge area has an insane view on the edge of the mountain.

Groose is the most local hill to the Vancouver area. It is not a drive up hill, so you will have to wait for one of 2 gondolas to take you from parking to the slopes.

It offers no real amenities or events, don't expect food elaborate rentals or apes, but for the low time commitment it is a good hill for the people of Vancouver who don't have the time or money to trek over to a larger hill. It's great for learning and teaching as the runs are low powder and groomed although the variation is very limited. You won't find any glades to write home about. The snow can be very icy due to low elevation.

It much more bigger than other two ski resorts (theres only 3 ski resorts nearby North Vancouver), if you are looking for a place to ski and chill I would suggest grouse mountain instead of cypress mountain, but if you are looking for To improve your ski or snowboarding skills, At the same time, you dont wanna drive two hours to whistler, I will highly recommend Cypress Mountain instead of Grouse Mountain, Its much more bigger and it is much more professional (Cypress Mountain used to used for Olympic, that shows this please is much more professional

This is my second year buying a season pass at Grouse. It is the perfect mountain for night skiing and snowboarding. I try to go twice a week. The line ups move quickly compared to other mountains and the Parks section is much better than any other local mountain. It is really convenient to get to and everything is run smoothly. It's not the biggest resort and can be limited by the weather conditions, but despite that's it's still my favorite local.

Grouse mountain is a family friendly resort, a bus journey away from north Vancouver. The slopes are friendly to intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders alike. Terrains park is great with plenty of features and local heros who always are welcoming. Can get quite busy on the popular slopes but generally a great resort.

Is well over priced. Is often over crowded. The runs are mediocre at best. Other things to tour on the mountain that will save you the experience

Definitely on of my favourite local resorts in the lower mainland. Taking the gondola up the hill is also very convenient. Great atmosphere. Awesome terrain parks. Well groomed runs. The lodge can get very busy. Hard to find seating to eat and have beer. Lots of tourists not actually riding the hill hanging out in the lodge all day

Its one of the smaller mountains in the area but the views are the best and the terrain parks are well made. They have a new lift being constructed now so the lift speeds are better.

My first time skiing in grouse is phenomenal and i keep going back. The thing i dont like is the gondola it slow and take 15 mins to wait but they are now adding more.

Solid resort very close to Vancouver. Pretty small terrain wise but great park skiing. Would not recommend for riders who like exploring and off piste runs as in my experience patrol is quite strict with people staying in bounds.
