Why Les 2 Alpes Is Perfect for a Sociable Ski Trip
There’s almost nothing better than a ski trip with a group of friends. Early morning laps, long mountain lunches, après-ski drinks on the slopes and evenings spent laughing about everything that happened that day are all part of the experience.
Les 2 Alpes is a resort where the fun continues long after the lifts close. With a lively social scene, a great choice of bars and restaurants, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s an ideal destination for groups who want to make the most of their time together, both on and off the slopes. Our Snomad community has given the resort an impressive rating of 4.33/5 for après-ski, with reviewers regularly praising the friendly locals and “the whole resort being a vibe from top to bottom” (Radu, advanced skier). Whether your group is looking for lively mountain bars, relaxed dinners or nights out that go on until late, Les 2 Alpes has plenty to bring everyone together.
Mountain Bars, Long Lunches and Après-Ski

The social side of Les 2 Alpes starts on the mountain, with venues to suit different budgets, tastes and group plans. The resort has plenty of spots where groups can pause, refuel and enjoy the atmosphere together.
At 3,200m, Le 3200 is a great choice. It brings together several types of dining under one roof. If your group is looking for a more refined dining experience, Ekrins is a more upscale sit-down restaurant. The carefully prepared food alone makes it worth a visit, but it’s the spectacular panoramic views that make lunch here extra special. It’s an opportunity to slow down, enjoy a memorable meal and take in the scenery together.
Further down the mountain, at 2,600m, you’ll find several more casual options, with beginner-friendly slopes nearby that help make these stops accessible to different abilities. If your group wants a quick, affordable bite between runs, Slope Food serves food that won’t break the bank. For something more relaxed, La Toura offers casual sit-down dining, making it a good option for a quick break or a longer lunch with friends.
Also at 2,600m is the iconic Pano Bar, a popular stop for groups looking to turn a mountain break into an après-ski session. Tom (advanced skier), says “Pano Bar is great”, while another Snomad reviewer goes a step further, calling its parties “absolute beasts”.
Once you’ve finished skiing, you don’t have to go far to find another lively spot. Umbrella Bar is an après-ski meeting point at the base of the Jandri. With DJs from 4pm to 7pm, it’s an easy place to stay in your ski gear, enjoy some music and catch up with your group before heading back to your accommodation or out for dinner. Cameron (advanced skier), says it’s “always booming with great music, drinks and people”, while Phil calls it “the place to be” for après-ski.
Group Dinners to Nights Out
The fun in Les 2 Alpes carries on well into the evening. Restaurants, bars and nightlife are all close together, making it easy for groups to head out for dinner and see where the evening takes them without worrying about transport or making plans too far ahead. Abigail (intermediate skier), sums it up well, explaining that the resort is “all close together and accessible, perfect for a young group wanting to enjoy the evening as much as the daytime”.
With an impressive 4.12/5 eating out rating from our Snomad community, there’s plenty of choice for group dinners. For traditional Alpine fare, Le Trappeur is a great place to gather around a cheese fondue after a day on the slopes. If you fancy something more casual, The Spot lets you build your own burger, a fun, relaxed option for a group.
Les 2 Alpes is a “really good resort in terms of liveliness and nightlife”, as Saskia (advanced skier), puts it. If you're not ready to call it a night after dinner, there are plenty of places to keep the evening going. Smithy’s Tavern combines food upstairs with a lively bar downstairs, so you can move straight from dinner to drinks and music. One Snomad reviewer praised the “incredible food upstairs”, while describing the bar downstairs as “THE PLACE TO BE”. For groups keen to dance into the early hours, Avalanche Night Club offers a livelier way to round off the night.
Rise Festival: Ski Days and Big Nights

If your group fancies a ski trip with even more going on, Les 2 Alpes hosts Rise Festival from 5–12 December 2026. The festival brings together skiing, snowboarding, live music and late-night parties, with Sub Focus among the acts on the 2026 line-up. Picture a day on the slopes with your friends, followed by DJ sets in the snow, a few drinks at après and live music that keeps the evening going.
During Rise, the resort takes on a different buzz, with the festival giving everyone another reason to come together once the skiing is done. Cameron (advanced skier), sums it up as a “Fantastic place to go, especially during Rise festival if you're looking for some high energy and fantastic après skiing.”
A Resort That Works for Mixed-Ability Groups

Getting a group of friends with different skiing abilities together can be tricky, but Les 2 Alpes gives everyone room to enjoy the mountain at their own pace. Beginners aren’t restricted to nursery slopes at the bottom of the mountain, with beginner-friendly runs higher up that make it easier for the group to ski in the same areas and meet up along the way. More experienced skiers can head off to explore tougher terrain, too. The resort scores well across all ability levels, with 4.32/5 for beginners, 4.12/5 for intermediates and 4.16/5 for advanced skiers. As Sally (advanced skier), puts it: “Enough to keep a large mixed-ability group happy. Good for being able to meet up.”
Finding somewhere for everyone to stay together is another important part of planning a group trip. Les 2 Alpes has an accommodation rating of 4.30/5 from the Snomad community. The resort has plenty of apartments and chalets for larger parties. Options include Chalet Tout Schuss, which can sleep up to 16 guests. Having a shared base means you can cook together to keep costs down, catch up after a day on the slopes and carry on the fun back at the chalet.
Les 2 Alpes has all the ingredients for a sociable group ski trip, from lively mountain bars and long lunches to relaxed group dinners and nights out that carry on until late. With terrain for different abilities, accommodation for larger groups and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s a resort where everyone can enjoy their own kind of ski holiday and memories together.
