What Makes LAAX the Best Freestyle Resort?

The resort is home to five meticulously maintained snowparks, offering everything from beginner-friendly features to pro-level kickers and rails. Whoop De Doo offers a safe and fun progression area for those wanting to build confidence before stepping up to LAAX’s larger parks.

With the addition of Whoop De Doo, LAAX will maintain five official snowparks. Meanwhile, the Free60 park, previously a natural-style freestyle area, will transition into a freeride zone with wooden ramps, but it will no longer be regularly shaped or maintained.

Freestyle Academy Reopens After Major Renovations

Freestyle progression doesn’t stop on the mountain. LAAX has invested heavily in its indoor freestyle training infrastructure, with the Freestyle Academy reopening after two years of extensive renovations.

The state-of-the-art facility is designed for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to elite athletes. The revamped indoor training center now includes:

• Five-square trampolines equipped with 360-degree cameras, allowing riders to review their tricks in detail.
• An expanded skate bowl and parkour area, providing new opportunities for off-snow freestyle training.
• A jumping tower with an airbag, offering a safe environment to practice new aerial tricks before taking them to the snow.

For younger riders, the Kids Freestyle Academy provides a dedicated training space designed for children aged 0-8, allowing them to develop balance, coordination, and early freestyle skills in a fun and safe environment.

How to Visit LAAX

LAAX is located in eastern Switzerland, with easy access from Zurich Airport. The best way to reach the resort is by taking a train from Zurich to Chur, followed by a short bus transfer to LAAX.

The winter season runs from December to April, with the LAAX Open taking place in January. The resort offers a variety of accommodation options, ranging from slope-side hotels to budget-friendly hostels.
