What Skiers Say About Snowbird

Snowbird is consistently described as an expert-focused resort with challenging, steep terrain and exceptional powder skiing, particularly in areas like the Cirque, Mineral Basin, and tree runs. Advanced and expert skiers dominate the reviews, praising the off-piste opportunities, snow quality, and vertical drop, while many note the resort is not beginner-friendly due to limited green runs. Crowding is a recurring issue, especially on powder days and weekends, with long lift lines and difficult canyon access frequently mentioned. Several reviewers highlight the outdated lift infrastructure, expensive day tickets, and limited après-ski and dining options both on-mountain and at the base. The ski school receives positive mentions, though accommodations and food are noted as pricey.

Amazing snow and tons of it. Vast expert terrain and good lift system. Pretty easy to get around and easy access via SLC Airport. The few lodging options at the resort are nice but expensive. And there's nothing up there at the resort once the lifts close. But if you're just looking for a ski experience without all the other nonsense, this is a top notch resort.

This is my home resort, my family and I have been skiing here for 30 years. We live within 30-40 minutes of the slopes.
Ski schools are excellent with a great staff, however the prices have gotten step.
Powder days are excellent!!! The back bowl of Mineral Basin and The Cirque off the tram provides some great powder runs from the top of the mountain.
Gad-II is one of my favorite lifts on powder days and mogul runs.
Skiing in Utah continued to get busier and busier every year and lift lines does tend to be an issue.
Food and restrooms are readily available at the bottom, mid, and top of the mountain.
The are stay and ski options and packages available at the resort with a couple dinning options. Snowbird is up a small canyon so there is limited space and access to the resort.
The resort really doesnt have a terrain park like neighboring resorts.
We love snowbird, its a stepper mountain that has helped us grow into skiers that have the confidence to ski anywhere!

Snowbird has the best powder back country! (Last season 160 inches of powder snow helped!) Just point downhill, stand on your skis and rock! :-) Take any line, there are very few other folks. Wow wow wow!!!
Some good lunch stops. There's even a picnic area in the top carpark with a few lively parties.
Great bar and microbrewery at the bottom of the lift stations.
Book your parking.
I want to go again!!!

Snowbird is somewhere Ive gone since I was 9. As a 9 year old, it was easy to feel crowded. However, I NEVER felt that way at SnowBird (I still dont). The resort has a very classy vibe to it and the slopes reflect that. People always seem super respectful, theres plenty of space to make your own run, theres places to do tricks, jumps, pipes, etc.

The accommodations all feel very well worth the cost, and the staff always make sure to take care of you. Ive genuinely never had a negative experience with any of the staff!

Ive only been to snowbird once but it was a lifetime experience. I will be going again as much as possible. Snowbird has a very unique experience taking you through the mountain on a conveyor belt type lift and to the other side of the mountain opening up to a huge field of full fluffy powder. With there only being one lift back to the top on the backside of the resort it is surprisingly not over crowded and does maintain a semi easy trail down with lots of off piste ways to get there as well.

I love Snow bird, it always gets great snow and it has a lot of good tree runs I enjoy. It's pretty pricey but it's worth it, the foods great and it's big enough to have space from other people while skiing.

Fun for every level besides first timers. Plenty of terrain and groomers spread through the entire mountain for lower level skiers, but still an experts haven at the same time.

Ive skied at Snowbird for my entire life and as a 20 year old I would say this is the perfect resort to be at. Snowbird has no lack of terrain and backcountry opportunities offered near and around the resort as well as some of the best powder storms that you can have in the world. The resort in itself is expensive, but the community and terrain are unmatched in my opinion to any ski resort in Utah. The downsides about Snowbird is the amount of people that congregate there, but thats what you expect when you have one of the top 5 ski resorts in the world. both of my parents have worked up at Snowbird and said it is a great resort to work at as well.

Love this resort. There is a great variety of terrain and tons of space. My son and never get bored there is just too much to do. They have an incredible variety of food options and we are eager to see the new mid gad restaurant. The old one was our favorite place there but it looks like they may have made it even better. The tunnel that takes you the back side is a must. Go there you wont be disappointed.

This resort is perfect for people who want to ski hard, and focus on getting runs in early and efficiently. There are only a few green runs, so learning here is not ideal. The skiing past gates that access extreme terrain are incredible, and snow quality is hard to beat.

I went to snowbird on my trip to Utah last year and while my opinion might be biased by the fact that I got a really nice powder day, I loved the resort. Really nice tran to take you up to the top and beautiful back bowl and double blacks in the gas valley. One of the best resorts Ive been to.

When I qualified more as an expert skier, I would usually head to Snowbird. The expert terrain is top notch and on powder days, the ability to find untracked snow is exceptional.

Snowbird is not for the faint of heart. There are some easier areas to ski, but it is mostly steep and deep. Having 11 lifts and the Tram makes getting around Snowbird easy and fun. The traffic can get backed up in the canyon due to how there are no reservations for parking at Snowbird and on powder days you might spend 2 hours on the road before ever getting boots on, but the snow is amazing and the steeps are so much fun.

Great for advanced to expert skiers. Some of the most extreme terrain you can find. Not too far from salt lake but the canyon can be a pain. Might get stuck up at snowbird for a few days if interlodge goes into effect.

Hard to find easy beginner terrain and a little tougher to learn there.

But they have one of the best ski school in the country!

My favorite resort because of the challenging terrain and the best snow on earth!
