This is a really small mountain that on certain days can get really busy, meaning long line for a run that takes 30 seconds. With this said this is one of the best mountains in NC to learn on.

App ski is our home mountain. Great atmosphere, family friendly, and all around good time. Not the largest hill, by any means but always a good time.

My brother goes to school at App State so we decided to stay there for a weekend and attend the snowboarding areas. Very fun! Lots of activities and great snow. Very nice people and were nice to my family and I. Great views and site seeing. Also great area to eat food.

As this mountain is my local, I love going here because it is so close to where I go to college. The slopes are great for beginners and as you get deeper into winter the snow quality gets better and better. As can be expected for East coast, the powder isnt great but it is still very soft snow. The runs are very enjoyable and unique, and the terrain park has a ton of small but cool obstacles. The staff are very welcoming and make sure that your time spent is the best it can be. The lodge also has great accommodations for food, any gear you might need in both upper and lower shops, and a great team of instructors who care about your progress as an individual. Make sure to wear helmets and padded pants as sometimes it can get icy.
