Whiteface is more geared towards advanced and expert skiers. The terrain is steep and can be icy at times. If you like fast descents, long runs, and breathtaking, unobtrusive views of the Adirondacks and nearby Greens (and dont mind the frigid temps) this is the mountain for you.

Really fun resort for all abilities. Not very much powder or tree skiing if you're into that. Great groomers and changeling terrain.

I had a fantastic time, I went with my family, there was all different types of runs that fit well with every skill level. The terrain park was fun as well. The scenery was also just stunning. I would love to go back. It also wasnt to busy so we got a lot of runs done

Whiteface Ski Resort is one of my favorite places to ski, with great runs on an Olympic class mountain. The runs are varied, offering something for everyone. Lake Placid is close by, so its easy to find dining and lodging. It has amazing views and amazing skiing. A lot to do close by. Its a must try

Theres always ice, theres always hard pack snow. Views are incredible, especially during early morning inversions. Beginners or people only used to soft co dictions shouldnt come here. Expect cold conditions.

Went to whiteface for 5 days in February after a work trip. Its just a few hours away from NYC.
It was hard to find accommodations, and food offer if you are not at lake placid is almost a miracle to find.
The rest, however, was good enough to enjoy the experience. Some long runs, no waiting at the lifts at all, enough blacks avoid getting bored.
Regarding snow quality, if was good most of the mornings, and either go some ice or spring snow on the afternoons, so use the mornings as much as possible, and if u stop for lunch, make those some late lunchs.

I went to whiteface very early in the season because my brother had a hockey game in the local town. I wasnt expecting very much leading up to the days Id be there. Once I got there though I was very surprised. They had a full top to bottom run with great conditions. They even had a mini park pop up closer to the bottom of the mountain. This made an awesome experience for me as I got to have a great time on the biggest mountain Ive ever been on and get to try out my new skis for the season. I believe if you have the chance to go to this mountain you should definitely take it because how great this mountain is from its infrastructure to its great staff.
