Catamount is a gem of a little mountain. After spending a few decades traveling to Vermont and New Hampshire I decided to ski closer to home and landed on Catamount. It's a small, well maintained area with a thousand vertical feet of fun and steep skiing. Steep skiing you say in the Berkshires? Yes, steeper than any place in Southern Vermont and New Hampshire with smaller crowds and reliable snowmaking and quality terrain. I would give it 5 stars if it had a high speed lift to the summit. The only drawbacks I found are lack of a high speed lift and very limited glade skiing. Other than that it's a great place to ski.
