Taos has some of the steepest trees Ive ever skied along with big open bowl skiing from the Kachina lift. There are some great long groomed runs as well as extremely long mogul runs. This is a great quiet mountain in the Southwest that I really enjoyed visiting.

Taos is amazing! Its cheaper than other ski resorts in the US, but you still get an amazing ride in the slopes with amazing quality in service.
The moguls were kinda tricky, we had some advanced skiers in our group struggle and even got hurt a little. Yet, it is not a continuous struggle, every year the moguls were different and we managed to enjoyed them as well.

Taos is our go-to ski resort. Ive been going there all my life. The skiing school is an amazing place for little ones to make friends and learn how to ski really fast. The teachers are amazing. Plus, the adults can go for some slopes peacefully, knowing the children are doing fine. They take the kids through nice and quite slopes, and every teacher Ive met is understanding and clear with instructions. Kids become amazing skiers with just a few classes.

Your side country options are Taos are amazing! Couple that with some really great tree runs really the only deficiency is a lack of solid mogul runs.

Amazing resort a little pricey but worth the money the slopes are for higher advanced skiers and I love how they powder is when it snows at Taos but its an amazing all together ski resort and I do plan on going back this year

Best ski resort ever. This is where I learned to ski. Ive skied the alps and Taos is better. St. Bs best restaurant in the world.

When it snows, it is the best if you like steep uncrowded chutes and trees. Often it lacks the prodigious amounts of snowfall the other Rocky Mountain resorts get but with the high elevation and many north aspects, soft snow and sometimes even a bit of powder can be found days after a storm. TSV has runs to challenge any skier and is never crowded off of the main runs. The grooming is also good and there are some fast cruiser runs, but the real highlights are the runs you have to work a bit more for. The culture and food in the area is unique and as the ski resort grows, accommodations, however, are more expensive, but are also creating more of an apres ski scene.

Do you like A Basin, well imagine if it had 50% more acreage and vert with twice as many lifts. As they say, Taos is another word for steep. Though its crown jewel the Kachina lift can close due to high winds and fog, a short traverse from its bottom terminal offers amazing terrain as well. Taos is a paradise for the intermediate-expert freeride skier, and has enough lifts and base area spaces to not feel crowded. The lodge at the base of peak 4 even has a ping pong table! If you dont want to pay to stay in the village, Arroyo Seco and the city of Taos offer beautiful architecture, authentic southwestern cuisine, and are usually much warmer.
