Taos is great for intermediate to expert riders. There are enough greens to keep beginners busy, but it's definitely not a mountain designed for them. They've got steep trees everywhere, some insane chutes on both sides of the ridge, and a crazy amount of steeps everywhere as well. West Basin Ridge offers the most extreme terrain at Taos. They have a lot of very long, very demanding mogul black and double black runs as well. Ski school is one of the best in the entire country too!

Truly magical place with loads of hike to terrain. Should be on your lift to ski before you die.Absolutely love the chutes and tree skiing on the west basin and the North America run is some of the best tree skiing i have ever done.

Taos has some of the steepest trees Ive ever skied along with big open bowl skiing from the Kachina lift. There are some great long groomed runs as well as extremely long mogul runs. This is a great quiet mountain in the Southwest that I really enjoyed visiting.

Taos is amazing! Its cheaper than other ski resorts in the US, but you still get an amazing ride in the slopes with amazing quality in service. The moguls were kinda tricky, we had some advanced skiers in our group struggle and even got hurt a little. Yet, it is not a continuous struggle, every year the moguls were different and we managed to enjoyed them as well.

Taos is our go-to ski resort. Ive been going there all my life. The skiing school is an amazing place for little ones to make friends and learn how to ski really fast. The teachers are amazing. Plus, the adults can go for some slopes peacefully, knowing the children are doing fine. They take the kids through nice and quite slopes, and every teacher Ive met is understanding and clear with instructions. Kids become amazing skiers with just a few classes.

Your side country options are Taos are amazing! Couple that with some really great tree runs really the only deficiency is a lack of solid mogul runs.

When it snows, it is the best if you like steep uncrowded chutes and trees. Often it lacks the prodigious amounts of snowfall the other Rocky Mountain resorts get but with the high elevation and many north aspects, soft snow and sometimes even a bit of powder can be found days after a storm. TSV has runs to challenge any skier and is never crowded off of the main runs. The grooming is also good and there are some fast cruiser runs, but the real highlights are the runs you have to work a bit more for. The culture and food in the area is unique and as the ski resort grows, accommodations, however, are more expensive, but are also creating more of an apres ski scene.

Do you like A Basin, well imagine if it had 50% more acreage and vert with twice as many lifts. As they say, Taos is another word for steep. Though its crown jewel the Kachina lift can close due to high winds and fog, a short traverse from its bottom terminal offers amazing terrain as well. Taos is a paradise for the intermediate-expert freeride skier, and has enough lifts and base area spaces to not feel crowded. The lodge at the base of peak 4 even has a ping pong table! If you dont want to pay to stay in the village, Arroyo Seco and the city of Taos offer beautiful architecture, authentic southwestern cuisine, and are usually much warmer.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Taos Ski Valley and I must say, the experience was absolutely breathtaking. The resort offers some of the most stunning views I have ever seen. From the moment I stepped onto the slopes, I was surrounded by majestic mountains and pristine landscapes. What impressed me the most about Taos Ski Valley was the abundance of big mountain terrain, despite being a smaller mountain compared to some of the giants out there. The variety of trails and slopes available catered to skiers and snowboarders of all levels, ensuring that everyone could find their perfect run. During my visit, we were fortunate enough to be hit with a heavy snowfall, which transformed the trails into a winter wonderland. The fresh snow glistened under the sunlight, creating a picture-perfect scene that made every run feel like a dream. I couldn't help but be in awe of the beauty surrounding me as I glided down the mountain. One of the highlights of my time at Taos Ski Valley was the endless bumps and tree lines. The resort is known for its challenging terrain, and as someone who enjoys a bit of a thrill, I couldn't have been happier. The moguls provided a thrilling challenge, while the tree lines offered a sense of adventure and exploration. It was a truly exhilarating experience navigating through the natural obstacles and carving my way through the trees. Aside from the incredible skiing and snowboarding opportunities, I also have to mention the staff at Taos Ski Valley. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff made my visit even more enjoyable. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and helpful advice. Whether it was the lift operators, ski instructors, or the staff at the lodge, everyone went out of their way to ensure that I had a great time. Their genuine friendliness added an extra layer of warmth to my experience. Overall, I cannot recommend Taos Ski Valley enough. The combination of beautiful views, diverse terrain, and friendly staff create a skiing and snowboarding paradise. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, Taos Ski Valley has something for everyone. Prepare to be amazed by the stunning scenery, challenge yourself on the slopes, and enjoy the warm hospitality of the staff. It truly is a remarkable destination for winter sports enthusiasts.
