Boyne Mountain resort my opinion is by far the best ski resort available in the Midwest. They have extensive snow making and usually have the longest midwest ski season starting first and ending last. They have many chairlifts, including high speed eight person chairlift. The grooming is excellent, but there is also ungroomed challenging runs, tree, and Glade skiing, and some secret powder stashes. Ski patrol is ranked as one of the best. He can get a bit busy on a Saturday, but the many chairlifts helped to disperse the crowd across the over 400 acres of terrain. The appraise ski scene and dining options, including more economical family friendly areas are excellent. For the non-skiers or for the skiers went off the slopes there is Michigans biggest indoor waterpark with a surfing wave machine some super slides, a lazy river and family splash areas as well as mega jet, big spa pools. There is zip lines,, snow, bikes,, moon, bikes, cross, country skiing, smores fire pits, igloo dining areas, and the biggest timber frame suspension bridge in the world. In short, Boyne Mountain resort has something for everybody.

Revisited Boyne after 10 years and was pleasantly surprised. Went in the middle of the week and there was never a wait at the lifts! It snowed every day I was there and the slopes were amazing. Only downside was the main trick park was closed due to a Redbull event.
