Copper is a great family friendly mountain. Magic carpets for public at the west side are great for little ones. The newer back area can be amazing on a powder day with loose trees and open areas that are a ton of fun.

Colorado skiing like it used to be. No glitz, just skiing. 100% natural snow makes for great conditions all season.

Rad little mom and pop hill. This place is cheap and always empty. You can find powder days after a storm. There is a reason the 10th Mountain decided to ski and train here.

Cooper is not a very advanced mountain if thats what you are looking for. A hard black there felt like a blue or green. The lifts are not very fast and take forever. The price however is very good and cheap for a decent mountain.

Most underrated resort in Colorado. Great terrain, easy to get to. Excellent all around! Copper is a No miss especially with kids.

For what Cooper used to be (a single-run military training site), its now a clean, family-friendly resort with a surprisingly good variety of runs. Theres something for every level from easy green to challenging double blacks. The town of Leadville is close by as well as a well-maintained Nordic ski area for those who would rather push than slide.
