Aspen Snowmass is pretty great, but quite expensive.
Lots of options for eating and drinking, but itll cost you.
The mountains are world class, though!

Potentially the best ski resort in all of Colorado in overal quality despite the extreme costs found here.
The groomers are wide, smooth and long with beautiful views, there are a wide range of difficulties to be found in the trees from easy to expert, and the layout is above average in convenience. There are only a couple of flat spots to avoid as a snowboarder like Turkey Trot and the beginner areas near the bases. The terrain park has a pretty good progression of easy to difficult that's maybe a little better than Keystone, and falls just short of Copper's Woodward parks.
The best part of Snowmass is the ratio of lifts and terrain to skiiers on the mointain. Nowhere else in Colorado can you find in-bounds skiing on a weekend with fewer people, shorter lines, and more open runs. If you're a weekday skier this will be lost on you, but for people who work a 9-5, this lack of crouds make one day here worth 3 or 4 weekend days at Breckinridge.
However, the outrageous price of a season pass ($2,834) or day tickets here ($239), high ski school prices ($300+), relatively long drive distance from Denver/DIA (4hr), and at times absurd price of food here ($11 for a dozen eggs in the village market), make it hard to recommend to normal people unless you luck into cheap housing and pack your food in while utilizing your 5 or 7 free days included with the Ikon or Ikon Base Plus passes. Nice things cost money and Snowmass is no exception.

Aspen is everything Vail wants to be but better. Large vert, tons of varied terrain, good lifts, the x-games park, good back country access, the party seen and you might see a celebrity.

From the 4 resorts to choose from, its difficult not to give 5 stars - theres not jus stone thing for everybody, theres a TON for everybody.
Specifically, Highlands is worth a day. Broadway is a 1-run symphony that even advanced skiers could lap all day and feel fresh every time. Drop off to the right, and you have your pick of ungroomed steeps, moguls, and trees. Hike up and take on the Highland bowl for a true other worldly experience. Id give highlands alone 5 stars!

Lots of options due to 4 different ski mountains, Aspen Mtn is heavy on moguls but Highlands has a good amount of diversity. Highlands bowl is awesome! Buttermilk is smaller but has lots of groomed runs and a nice park. Snowmass is huge and has lots of options for all skill levels.

The resort is amazing and features runs for all level skiers/snowboarders. Some of the nicest blue runs youll find in the US ski resorts (weve been to quite a few). The only downside is how expensive Aspen (resort and town) is for food and accommodation.

I skied for the AVSC program so I went to all four of the Aspen area ski resorts. All in all it was a five star experience. Nothing to complaint about, great skiing, great instructors, fun food, and good people. I recommend this mountain to any skier big or small.
