What Skiers Say About Palisades Tahoe
Palisades Tahoe attracts predominantly advanced and expert skiers drawn to its extensive steep terrain, particularly KT-22 and numerous chutes and cliffs. Reviewers consistently praise the technical off-piste options, powder skiing when conditions allow, and the connection to Alpine Meadows via base-to-base gondola, which significantly expands skiable terrain. However, weekend crowding, expensive lift tickets and food, limited beginner terrain, and frequent wind holds affecting lift operations are recurring complaints. Several users note inconsistent snowfall in recent seasons and mention that the resort feels increasingly corporate and expensive, though weekday visits typically offer a better experience with shorter queues.

Rad powddrr steeps.
As an expert skiier, particularly when a recent snow storm hits, Palisades is an amazing resorts. Just watch out for traffic & highway closures getting there.
Unfortunately, as with many resorts in the US, food options are mediocre, accomodation options are limited and pricey, and overall value for money is not great unless you have a season pass.
In addition, the atmosphere in the ski patrol is totally toxic, both in the professional section and the volunteer (national) section. This toxic atmosphere cause an exodus of good patrol people who couldn't stand the atmosphere. This exodus severely impairs the quality of first aid. Beware!
Take a vacation there and you wont be disappointed!
