Thyon is a great option for a relatively good value for skiing the 4 valleys. There’s more family options, but also some great off piste, especially if you drop down over the other side of Greppon (a bus/taxi journey is required on the way back). Staying in Thyon valley itself gives you a few really nice red runs, down to Veysonnaz and Mayens-de-L’Ours, with excellent connections via fast gondolas or chair lifts.
If you fancy venturing further out, Soviez is within easy reach that opens the possibility to ski Nendaz, Mt Fort and Verbier. Do leave yourself enough time to get back, as there can be queues both on return to Siviez, but even more so at the bottom of Greppon. Also, beware that Greppon itself is a drag lift, and a very long one at that, so you’d need to be proficient enough to be on that. Luckily, when I was there in January, I could see foundations of a new chairlift that will hopefully replace the drag and make connection between the valleys so much smoother and accessible.
Food options are fine by me, but for those who are used to say Megeve, Chamonix and Courchevel, they might seem a bit basic. Les Chottes above Veysonnaz is one of our favourites, but there are more options available.
You won’t pay the sort of prices you’d see in Verbier, yet, this is Switzerland and for anyone going their with their hard earned British pounds, they will feel that this isn’t Italy either.
Highly recommended all-round

It was an amazing time of year to visit to Thyon, there was plenty of snow, no queues! Good restaurants, good spa options, few lifts directly from village. I imagine family friendly, the ski school, lifts and piste quality were excellent. 10/10, would recommend, still thinking about it! And definitely would go back.

Coming from a surfing background and now 53 years old, overweight and still thinking you can do anything. Well I had a snowboard lesson and not for me, swapped my hire kit for skis and the hire shop staff were incredibly supportive and helpful. A game changer, skiing was the way to go, another lesson booked. The instructor was absolutely incredible, really helped me for the first hour, then I was off, just incredible. Totally recommend this resort! Just brilliant. Booking again for sure.

Great snow and slopes well taken care of. Lots of different routes to take so enough challenge for more advanced skiers. I was there in January and it was quiet, we were often able to enjoy the slopes all to ourselves. Great place to go!

Thyon is a quiet resort lovated in the 4 Valleys ski area, which provides it with access to Verbier and other resorts. Thyon is mainly a beginner ftiejdly resort with it mainly being blues with some reds. With it having access to over 400km of ski area, you think there will be a lot of variation in skiinf. Howver what i found let it down was the lifts, especially the amount of key button lifts which are used to transport you over towards verbier. This lead to there being large amounts of queues and it taking a while to travel over to where there is more dificult terrain. In thyon itself there are a few restaurants and bars, nothing special. I would consider Thyon a resort best for familys
