Great off piste yellow runs for skiers and advanced snowboarrders. If you struggle with right turns and up and downs off piste, dont take the yellow runs.
Great lifts with overall below average queues.
Great restaurants at the top of lifts.

Great value way to experience the epic off piste areas of Verbier with slightly less cost. Easy to get to from Geneva airport with the trains as well (& a bus at the end). For advanced skiers the best bit is the ski routes imo

Nendaz is an amazing resort. It sits in a bowl that always gets snow, keeps snow, and is just the right amount of cold.
With some big back country and easy ski-in access to Verbier, Nendaz is something of a hidden gem of Swiss ski resorts.
Thankfully, not everyone knows about it and can be a good haven for families not wanting the buzz of Verbier, but the challenge and snow of the region.

Nendaz is great for particularly young families as the main lift brings one to a small open area with gentle slopes where beginner and small child lessons may be overlooked from the Restaurent or bar, but leaving them to the instructors there is challenging skiing only minutes away. Indeed one can rapidly ski into the centre of the 4 valleys ski area with excellent piste and off piste options.

Specifically on the mountain of Siviez, the runs were groomed but beyond midday became icey (especially the blue run). Red and black runs were great fun and offered plenty of powder. Apres was quiet and more of a restaurant vibe with expensive beer. Early in the season slopes were very quiet and if you waited until late afternoon just prior to lifts closing you would have some empty slopes. All in all enjoyed my time in Nendaz.

Have been going back to this resort for the last 20 years. Can honestly say that it has some of the best skiing and terrain the alps has to offer. Up to 3330m of Mont fort and the backside of it leading to the haute route or the lac de clueson hydro-dam.
Combined with the 4 valleys ski area over to verbier the rest of the alps cant compete. Nendaz particularly has a multitude of restaurants that are both family friendly and a lovely night out. There is also a brilliant mix of on slope apres-ski and in town bars and pubs that have a late night life.

As a ski instructor fresh out of the season, I can say that Nendaz has something for everyone. For people who like distance, Nendaz is part of the 4 Valleys, giving you 410km of ski area, connected to its more famous Verbier as well as 5 other resorts; the largest ski area in Switzerland. Nendaz would be slightly cheaper for accommodation and have slightly smaller queues in peak weeks. Its got a good beginner area - although you have to walk down some steps, and the apres scene is daily for seasonaires and livens up in the peak weeks. If you like touring, theres loads to offer on a pow day. It does however need better connections to Siviez for beginner-intermediates as the only way out of Nendaz is a red, and the only way back is a black - or downloading the gondola.

Been skiing the 4vallees while staying in Nendaz for over 10 years. My mates and I love the town. Its not mental but its great fun. Great restaurants and bars. The ski area is vast with a great lift network. Plenty of good on and off slope skiing. The mighty Mont Fort is great. Some good yellows with Chassuoure Tortin. And you can ski down into Verbier if you have a few grand spare for a beer.

A family friendly resort with lots of blues to learn. Links to Verbier and the 4 Vallees gives more technical skiers access to a huge range of ski options from difficult blacks, various intineraires, mogul fields, and off piste options. Good ski links to the 4 vallees and Verbier allow less experienced skiers to still ski the whole region with more reliance on lifts. Après and nightlife is a little lacking though.
