A small friendly Swiss village with terrific access to the Portes de Soleil. Ideal for families that want to avoid the overcrowding of some more high profile places.

Great self catering options. Good bus service between resorts. Port du soleil is a huge resort so lots of skiing with plenty of on slope places to eat and drink.

The skiing was great around the whole resort and the majority of the lifts were easy to get to. Anybody looking for activities to do out of the town only has to drive down the road to find stuff.

Morgins is a gem in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area. This is an attractive village with a variety of accommodation options, 2 small supermarkets and equipment rental/purchase shops. There are plenty of restaurants and bars with a variety of local cuisine to more "fine dining". The resort is super friendly and the locals say "bonjour" (hello). For the mountain activities there is a totally new lift this year to access the Swiss side and this makes it easy for non skiers to reach the mountain area and get amazing views of the Dents du Midi mountain range. There is a snow learning area at altitude to get started and the Geant area from the village to progress. Connections to and from other resorts in Switzerland PDS is easy with well maintained runs and mainly chair lifts, skiing back to the village is usually open until after Easter (depending when this falls). Access to Chatel and the French side is by a lift directly out of the village (Corbeau) but in poor snow seasons this might be with a shuttle bus. In good snow you can connect from Corbeau to Follieuse on snow through the village - a bit of an experience, only needing to take equipment off to cross the road and get onto the new gondola. If you want even more restaurants and nightlife then the next village in Chatel/France is a short drive away also with a large supermarket about a 10 min drive. Morgins is easiest to access from Geneva airport and can be reached via public transport on connected train and bus service (check out sbb.ch app). Some transfer bus services will come to Morgins via Chatel on request - check out Chatel transfers. Morgins resort is usually open from 1-2 weeks before Christmas until early April - after this time then access to the other higher PDS resorts can be via the Chatel stations - a short drive to . In the summer there is access to many activities in the mountains with the Multi Pass and this is free with many accomodation options in Morgins. Morgins has amazing downhill mountain biking and hiking options when not a snow resort. So you might worry about Swiss prices but have a look before ruling the Swiss resorts out, this is much quieter than the French linked resorts so is a good place to stay and still allows you to access the PDS full domain.

Morgins is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area between France and Switzerland, which is the second largest in Europe. This vast ski area provides access to a wide variety of slopes. And for those who like moguls, there is the steepest slope in the world called Pas de Chavanette or the Swiss wall. For freeride enthusiasts, multiple options are available to you, whether in the forest or on large rocky bars.
