For me these (now joined ) two resorts have provided myself and friends some of the best off piste powder skiing I had in Europe. Endless day of powder both lift and skinning have been had naming our favourites as areas and characters from Lord of the rings. Totally recommend.

Super nice resort, lots of nice and very accessible free ride terrain. Good options for shorter and longer tours aswell. Grimentz is more beginner/intermediate friendly.

Superb resort for intermediate and advanced riders. Varied and interesting runs and endless easily accessible off piste options. Village is chocolate box perfect, but Apres ski is very limited and resort is pretty quiet.

Great snow, great village, great slopes, great everything. Food on the mountains are a bit pricy but what do you expect. Good variety of runs and places to eat with great views. Go here every year and has always been good. Broke my arm a couple years ago and the locals and snow patrol were very helpful. Although I couldnt ski it was still a great trip and got a full refund on all my gear.

A hidden resort, with near empty slopes even in the peak weeks. Some great off piste options like the run down to Moiry dam. Theres a good variety of groomed run - easily enough for a long weekend or maybe a week. Quite a lot of button lifts and not biggest choice of restaurants but that isnt an issue when youve got the whole resort to yourself.

I love skiing in Grimentz. I love going off pist and I had the bet powder days in Grimentz as far as I can remember. All the off pist terrain are relatively safe, the views are amazing. The food is a but expensive but the apartments have nice kitchens so you always have the option to cook in the evening!

Grimentz has some of the best skiing ive ever done to offer. A vast range of runs, perhaps overall on the more challenging side with many steep blacks and challenging reds. The ski school here tho is fantastic and will definitely help you become better equipped for the steep resort. Grimentz is a high resort and snow is normally pretty good. Just after a big snowfall, the off pieste options are plentiful, whilst always remaining in safe distance to the slopes. The snowpark is great fun, with a few different levels of jumps. A restaurant with outdoor seating is sat at the bottom, so you can enjoy a cold beer and watch the locals smashing it on the big kickers! The resort can get busy of course, but for the most part stays quieter than some others. The lift systems normally handle the flow of people well but it has to be said that on especially busy weeks, they might not be best equipped to handle that many people. However there have been many new lift improvements over the last couple of years so they are on the right tracks. They have also couples Grimentz and zonal together by a gondola, giving you so much more to explore! Grimentz is a stunning resort, breathtaking views, amazing skiing and a super relaxed vibe. But if youre looking for a party atmosphere and a crazy apres, you might be better off elsewhere. I always love staying in grimentz, it makes for the best family and friends skiing holiday you can ask for. Always give it a 10/10.

One of the hidden gems of the Valais. Plenty of variety on piste with plenty of off piste and touring potential.

Superb resort for quality of terrain and slopes. Loads of easily accessible off-piste also available. Queues are rare and slopes generally quiet. Apres ski is pretty much non existent, so if you are a party animal, its not for you. For everyone else, its paradise.

Grementz-Zinal offered a great variety of well groomed slopes but most importantly a great of safe off-pist slopes. The powder was brilliant! Really nice restaurants, free wifi available all around and good ski shops in Grimentz.
