I’ve taken my family there from when they were around 8 years old right through to early 20s. A really safe resort with no opportunity of getting lost - so even at an early age we were happy to let the kids ski on their own while we were in the cafes. Fab ski school with really lovely maestros to give them all the skills they needed. The Sunny Valley area is gorgeous with sun and snow guaranteed, while the area round the front of the mountain is more challenging - but completely doable by the end of your first week skiing! Some black runs for those that need it, like the famous Deborah Campagnioni Olympic downhill route. We stayed in a lovely 3 star hotel ( Park Hotel) every time. It’s warm and cosy, great food and run by a lovely Santa Caterina family - as are all the hotels in this resort. You’ll find mainly Italians here, but English is spoken everywhere. A great family friendly place but not overrun with people - so no queues either. The only issue is it’s a long transfer2.5 hours or so from Milan, but if there’s a few of you costs work out well. Not on most package holiday options, but easy to self organise as a group. Great value all round.

It's a great resort for families and people looking for a chilled session. It's not the best for nightlife etc, but a lovely refuge at the top of the mountain for lunch or a drink in the day! The lifts were quiet and you didn't need to wait too long to get on.

Quieter slopes with a range of difficulty levels. Good lifts and snow quality. Nice village to explore and have food and drinks.

Great quiet family resort, great cruising and excellent and underutilised off piste. Fresh tracks still possible days after a dump.
Excellent and reasonably priced mountain restaurants

Not a huge resort, but driven there 5 times from the UK just proves that it's well worth it. Tre Signori hotel, ski in, ski out is fabulous. Food and drinks on slopes are very affordable and much better than in France. Slopes are well looked after.

Santa Caterina is a Gem off a find, its great for families and beginners. It has more than enough runs for a weeks skiing, but it is also linked to Bormio.
Its a very snow sure report even at Easter, the resort will be improved this summer with a new lift and additional runs.

This is not a party resort, the restaurants, locals and hospitality are amazing!

Limited number of lifts but a good range of pistes including a
World Cup downhill the Compagnoni piste. Ideal resort for families with small children wanting to learn in safety. Snow sure due to aspect and altitude with enough to keep you busy between some wonderful on mountain restaurants! Good value for money but not for those that want vibrant apres whilst paying through the nose for it!
