Ideal location for getting on the Sella Ronda & also for the Marmolada (the highest mountain in the Dolomites which has s museum about WW1 local area history. half way up), Hidden Valley (famous for skiers bring pulled out by horses) and several other valleys.

This is an intermediate resort as the first rubs off cable car are red. There is a great cafe in town called cafe tirol run by 2 sisters that serve great food and cheap beer.

Every year we return, we will never get board of the abundance of runs and choices available. Ski all day and never ski the same run with over 40km of skiing. Very cost effective, plenty of options over the 4 resorted connected so never really limiting your choice to stay and change things up over the years. Food is great, people are friendly, accommodation is ideal and week placed, everywhere is accessible and the lifts are always being updated and improved.

Bussing up and down the valley between the different ski areas can be frustrating and the Limited lifts up onto the ski area can have 1-2 hour queues at peak times. However, beyond that, the skiing is epic with an amazing range of pistes and jaw dropping scenery (unlike anything else in the alps!). Simple access to the massive sella ronda circuit and neighbouring resorts. The hidden valley run in Lagazuoi can be accessed via a short taxi from Alta badia and is an amazing experience.

Val di Fassa is somewhere i have been many times on holiday. It has great pistes that stretch over a massive area of land. The Sellaronda especially is an essential route if youre coming here to ski. Après may not be as good as somewhere like St Anton but the eating out options are amazing and is perfect for a family holiday.
