Vars Reviews & Ratings

The snow was amazing and lots of good long runs. Not too busy, but still a good atmosphere. There wasn't much in the way of Apres or Eating out, but still a really good bar and a few nice restaurants. So not a party town. I imagine it would be better for families or more relaxed people

End of season in Very French resort in southern Alps French schools not broken up, slopes empty, lifts empty, good ski area, suit all levels. Never skiied so much as 10 people infront of you at lift was as busy as it ever got. Loved it definately want to go back.

Vars was such a beautiful resort and such great value. We had a very basic but brilliant apartment right on the slopes with a heated outdoor pool, it was perfect for what we needed. The slopes were so quiet and we often found we were the only people on certain runs and we never queue for a lift. There was also a huge variety of runs and we barely touched the surface. The town was small but perfect with a great range of lovely restaurants and a couple of bars for after. We will definately be back to what we thought was a very speak place.

Well priced for France

Quieter resort but made for quieter slopes
Nice long runs and good choice of snow parks and boarder cross

Picturesque resort, lovely long blue & red runs, not over crowded, great lessons from instructors at ESF

Me and my partner love to ski and vars was lovely the sensory the experience was amazing and we want to ski every Christmas

I went to Vars in France in Feb 2025. I'm a snowboarder, and my roommate was a skier. Nearly all of the lifts were seated and the ques short, making it really easy to get around throughout the day. The quality of the groomed runs were great as was the snow park and boarder cross. I went hunting for off piste powder and found some easily accessible areas as well as parts just off the slopes. Restaurants up the mountain were clean and fairly good priced but if you wanted a cheaper meal or drinks it was best to head down to the main village. Accommodation was nice and located close to the lifts as the village is quite small. Pubs and restaurants were good quality and offered a variety of local dishes.
Overall the trip was good value for money and the ski area has a good variety for each ability.
