What Skiers Say About Sainte Foy Tarentaise
Sainte Foy Tarentaise is a small resort with only four lifts that attracts families, intermediates, and expert skiers seeking quieter slopes and off-piste terrain. Reviewers consistently mention minimal lift queues, well-groomed pistes, and exceptional tree skiing and backcountry access when snow conditions allow. The resort is described as family-friendly with all runs returning to a single base point, though the limited number of pistes means variety can become repetitive over a week. Most reviewers note the relaxed, community atmosphere and proximity to larger resorts like Val d'Isère and Tignes, while several mention limited nightlife and après-ski options compared to bigger destinations.

Good for family ski
All routes lead back to the station which is just beautiful. Friendly bars, and nice restaurants where lively après ski makes way for family friendly dining.
Accomodation is fantastic in traditional chalets or well run tour apartments.
It holds the snow when many others are losing theirs.
Overall a fantastic gem and those in the know (instructors, seasonaires etc) will do anything to ski there.
Supermarket was very expensive, something to note if self-catering, although restaurants were quite reasonable.
I have skiied since I could walk but tried snowboarding for the first time here and would definitely go back to ski also as a good variety of runs and off-piste routes.
This family friendly resort offers so etching for a levels of skiers.
Beautiful groomed runs, vast off piste areas and the best tree skiing you will find in the region. Everyone has a great day on the slopes of ste Foy
Excellent tree skiing and lift served off piste, with enough piste to keep the family happy for a week.
Great for kids, all the runs come back to a single point, so not likely to get lost
Small, pretty village with a few bars and restaurants.
Great to combine with a day in Les Arcs or Tignes.
The off piste skiing is incredible with so much more than expected.
Good pisted runs but not a huge amount of them.
I have been going for years and still enjoy every moment.
Accommodation is also good quality - companies such as CGH have great properties slope-side which come at reasonable prices. Being a smaller resort, it tends to less busy even during peak ski season, making it ideal for young families looking to take their children to ski school. ESF also operates here, and they are able to provide excellent services to train your child.
Overall, Sainte Foy is a fantastic ski resort for families and youngsters, however if youre looking for more populated and more piste variety, this resort may not be the resort for you.
