The Skiers' Guide to Saint Martin de Belleville
All Reviews
Saint Martin de Belleville Review Summary
Saint Martin de Belleville is consistently described as a small, authentic Savoyard village that serves as a quieter, more affordable base for accessing the Three Valleys ski area. Reviewers span beginner to expert levels, with many highlighting its family-friendly atmosphere and traditional alpine character compared to busier resorts like Val Thorens or Courchevel. The gondola provides quick access to Méribel and Les Menuires, though several users note the resort's low elevation can result in icy or slushy conditions at day's end, and early lift closures or wind can complicate return journeys. Dining receives widespread praise, with multiple mentions of Michelin-starred options and varied restaurant quality. Après-ski is described as limited and relaxed rather than lively, with a few bars offering live music but no major party scene.

Loads of excellent restaurant options (including Michelin stars) and also great for kids.
The gondola from the village centre zips you up the mountain quickly - and as St Martin is quite low down, sometimes the snow isn't great going back home at the end of the day, so the gondola is ideal for getting you back home quickly too.
From the top of the gondola, it's one fast lift up to the top of some great runs in St Martin, Les Menuires and Meribel - basically, right in the middle of the 3V.
If you don't need rollicking nightlife and prefer Savoyard charm and fast access to the best of the 3V, this is the best choice.
Inks direct to the three valleys ski area which offers first class areas for every type and standard of skier
This resort is the best spot to jump between multiple different valleys and have a Michelin star restaurant
Many places to eat ranging from medium cost to fine dining.
Beautiful traditional French village full of charm.
Good ski school although not great for runs for beginners.
Highly recommend
Resort was good and slopes not too bad. Quite low down so it can get very icy at the bottom.
When it's windy, they close the lifts so it's impossible to get back from meribel or menuires without getting the bus which only runs 4x a day
Not much apres ski but p bar was very good with love music
