Saint Jean D'Aulps is a hugely underrated quiet and beautiful small resort. Partner of the Porte Du Solier offers a large plateau for beginners along with a stunning loop. Takes between 45-1hr for the loop at a brisk pace. We absolutely love it here!

Nice quiet town 10 min drive from Morzine.

Really easy to get to Ardent to ski in Avoriaz, Morzine a little harder due to finding / paying for parking.

Has the bonus of it's own ski area Roc D'Enfer, that allows you to escape the crowds and can be fantastic in the right conditions.

A brilliant, family friendly resort with few queues even in peak weeks and some of the prettiest terrain in the Protes du Soleil.
A short drive from the lifts of Morzine and Avoriaz but with enough varied terrain and great snowmaking and grooming to keep advanced skiers and snowboarders entertained.
The best value resort in the valley by far.

We were based in Morzine but decided to get a taxi to St Jean d'Aulps on a white out day so that we could ski in tree lined runs. The taxi driver said it was an inspired choice and it was! Fantastic snow and virtually empty meant we were still skiing in virgin snow after lunch which would have been long gone in Les Gets or Morzine. The only downside is the slow lift system.
