Been visiting Grande Terche/St Jean d’Aulps for years now and it’s never disappointed. Perfect for new skiers and experts alike, with a gorgeous plateau to help you find your feet, and a fast, challenging circuit route that’ll bring you way out into the rural alps. It’s where I learned to ski, and where I still choose to start my vacation every year decades later. Perfect for family trips, or mates holidays when you’re not all quite up to standard ;). It’s currently at risk of being shut down in the coming years, so make sure to visit and show your support!

Quiet, risk of no snow, snow is made but the resort can be warm low down and the end of some runs can be very poor and hard work.

Stayed with some friends living out there for a little. Free bus access up to the Portes du Soleil area so plenty to go at. Nice quiet place to stay, but not too far from Morzine if you want to head out at night either!
