Such a good resort for start out skiers with young children! I learnt to ski there as a child and it remains a family friendly safe and brilliant ski holiday destination and one which isn't as well known

I was completely new to skiing, and it was something Id wanted to learn for years. I went and had 2 lessons with ESF- they were amazing and helped me with my confidence enough that I felt I could ski a blue on my second day on a pair of skis. The blue runs at Peyragudes were steep but fun, but not a lot of snow was on the greens so it was skiing on ice the majority of the time. Ski hire was easy and good value, and all staff were helpful. Would definitely recommend for a beginner.

Great for a day trip from surrounding towns, awesome value for beginners. Probably not enough to justify a weeks holiday but plenty of other things to do & interesting places to visit in the area

I spent a season here in 2023. I stayed in Luchon, initially getting a pass for SuperBagneret, but its a local resort and due to its low elevation (and lack of snow cannons), snow was really poor.
Peyragudes is a real step up, it's more expensive, but you get what you pay for. It's has decent blues and reds, and a few nice blacks. Just watch the Agudes side gets pretty icy as it only gets sun until around 2pm. Make sure you go in January or later to guarantee snow.
If you can, 100% stay in Loudenville, it's a beautiful little village, next to a lake down in the valley. Also has the Balnea outdoor heated pools which are so good. There's a stunning Mercure hotel if you can afford it, and the food/drink is excellent as you expect from the french. There is also the Gondala that takes you straight from the town up to the base station.
For lunch - Le traineau des Gourmandises
For morning coffee and pastries/sandwiches in Loudenville - Banh Mie
Would recommend for a relaxed trip, good runs, beautiful place!
