What Skiers Say About Morillon
Morillon is reviewed primarily by intermediate and advanced skiers who value its position within the Grand Massif linked area, providing access to a large ski domain across five villages. The resort itself is described as quiet, family-friendly, and good value, with efficient lifts and well-groomed runs dominated by blues and reds. However, multiple reviewers note snow reliability issues at village level due to lower altitude, particularly in recent years and later in the season, though higher slopes remain better covered. The village has limited nightlife and dining options, especially at the mid-station Les Esserts. Reviewers consistently praise the free ski bus, lack of lift queues, and suitability for families and beginners.

It is not a resort for wild apres ski.
For beginners the nursery slope is well located and well looked after.
There is good access to the higher slopes with two chair lifts, and an easy green run back.
The main chair leads on to a wide range of slopes taking you to all parts of the Grand Massive. These slopes are well maintained with a large number of snow making machines and well served with a wide range of mountain restaurants.
We have found that there is plenty of scope for morning skiing and being back in Les Esserts to meet up with the rest of the family for lunch.
Runs were reasonably well groomed and lift staff were helpful and very efficient.
Was a good first ski holiday
Very nice atmosphere in the bars and restaurants with some delicious food.
Lovely walk between Morillon and Samoens is a must do, some beautiful views!
Very cheap
And cheerful and a bit neglected overall, but good lifts up to Grand Massif and you can ski over to the higher and thriving Flaine fairly large ski area and despite the snow running out down in Less Esserts, the snow above was great and vast in March. Ski hire quality wasnt the most current in les esserts but would suit beginners and intermediates fine.
Eating out in Les Esserts was a choice of two places and it all felt a bit abandoned and ghost town-ish!!
We didnt care because we were there to ski with the kids, but if you needed the whole buzzing apres scene, youd be sorely disappointed! One Sherpa, very overpriced. Big Carrefour down outside Morillon itself.
