Very pretty French village, far more like Austrian than French. We went over Christmas and the town square was delightful with family entertainment.
Regular bus to main gondola during busy times.
We used the ski lockers at the lift as we were three generations, which were confusing at first to operate but were great after that. Our apartments had a ski locker but was not heated.
There had been a good dump of snow previously but nothing recently and the slopes were a mixture of icy and fluffed up snow which was challenging at times. Flat light one day.
Main runs back to the various resorts lifts in the Grand Massif were very busy come 3.30p,m. with quite a few idiots who showed no concern for lesser skiers. Overall the snow conditions were much better at Les Carroz than in Flaine. Sameon is mainly north facing so colder.
Did not use ski lessons as we went in March to Flaine and my 15 yr old granddaughter learned so little we felt she was better with us. 13 yr old granddaughter loved the whole thing and really took to it.
Not all the runs were open although some looked fantastic and we were told they were holding on to them for new year which is a very busy time (we went over Christmas)

Les Carroz might be a little low nowadays, often the snow/pistes dont reach down into resort. You can get up/down by the telecabin, but not always ski back home at the end of the day.
If you have a car and the snow doesnt reach down to Les Carroz, an alternative is to drive to the Vernant Chair Lift (with lots of free parking), and ski the higher slopes around Flaine.
Resort is family friendly and free from banging Apres.
Bistro Grill du Gron is excellent if youre a carnivore

Wonderful place to learn for kids and grownups. Big gentle blue run right out of the main lift centre. Kiddy runs on the edge of the town for learning with moving walkways. Beautiful views and scenery all around. The town has an outdoor heated pool too so staying self catering and finding your own extras to enjoy is easy. Fantastic first time location. If you are more experienced it's a fun slip and slide over to some of the bigger adjacent resorts.

The access to the 4 valleys is great. There are lots of runs to choose from for all levels. Great bus access that has pick up points all over the resort. The small markets are quite expensive Id recommend shopping in the Carrefour in Cluses before the climb and only getting fresh bits locally. Great ski hire/purchase options. Overall its a great resort.

Lez carroz is only 1 hour 40 via transfer from Geneva. Making it a perfect location for a trip from UK

Lez carroz is a small but perfect village for families looking for a relaxing location with easy access to great ski schools and those more experienced the ability to venture into the full grand massif ski range of 5 separate villages all connected vie superb ski lifts and public transport. From Lez carroz those looking for green to black slopes will have plenty of choice. And some fabulous of piste adventures can also be had. Those more fixed on play zones there are plenty of fun zones scatterd about the whole range.

It doest end here .. those looking for food and some aspri-ski will also be very happy with the great choices all over the mountain range and even more so in the village of Lez carroz

Les carroz is a great resort accommodating for all rider levels. It connects 5 villages known collectively as le grands massif with an efficient lift system and in 5 days we were still discovering new pistes. Given that I discovered the resort outside of school holidays in mid march it wasnt overly busy, mainly families or groups of friends rather than loads of ski school kids. The resort offers a mixture of slopes for different abilities, and plenty of amazing easily accessible off piste options, especially around Flaine. There is a fair amount of cafes, restaurants and bars on the mountain offering standard mountain food options, but they lack the quality and authenticity of the mountain restaurants you find in Italy, and they feel slightly commercial. A couple turn into apres ski bars but again, they were slightly less interesting than the dancing on the tables scene that you find in la folie douce. Les carroz really feels tailored to skiing and not having to queue for more than five minutes for any chairlift added to the experience.

Great resort for beginners- took my daughter and she loved the greens and blues. Easy to navigate. Lots of skiing for all abilities as with the lift pass you can get into the Flaine system.

Resort accom is cheap but lift passes arent particularly cheap. Have to pay for piste map which is bonkers! Big queues in morning for gondola.
Not snow sure at all, very dodgy slopes at bottom.
Flaine has the snow usually but only on a few pistes so entire area seem to be on those pistes which make them super busy.
Resort has lovely charm.
Ski school good for kids!
Very close to Geneva airport for weekend breaks.
