Great resort for beginners and everyone alike! Lift queues can be a little long however. Have a great few bars too!

I’ve been to Alpe d’Huez 3 times and love it. The snow was low when we arrived but the teams had obviously done an amazing job on the runs that were open. The bars and restaurants are amazing and the runs are super cruzy, with the option for long harder runs too, especially the Sorrene (when it opens again). The higher you go the better the snow and generally quieter. The other side of the mountain is good fun in the afternoon on a sunny day as it gets a bit slushy, which I love on a snowboard. The lifts and technology are always improving and the town is picture perfect. When the snow did arrive, the tractors and trucks were out in full force clearing the roads. Love it and would always recommend!

Alpe d’Huez is a brilliant all-round ski resort and one I’d happily go back to without thinking twice.
The skiing is great, whether you’re cruising on piste or heading off to find a bit of adventure. There’s loads of variety, so you never feel stuck doing the same runs over and over again, and the long descents are a proper bonus. It works just as well for confident skiers as it does for mixed-ability groups.
Off the slopes, there’s plenty going on. Accommodation choices are solid from good-value apartments to nicer hotels so you can usually find something that fits your budget and style. Food options are excellent too, with everything from easygoing mountain lunches to decent sit-down dinners in the evening.
Après is another big win. There are loads of bars, whether you fancy a chilled beer, live music, or a full-on party atmosphere. It’s lively without being messy, and you can pick the vibe you want depending on the night.
Overall, Alpe d’Huez just gets the balance right. Great skiing, loads to do, good food, good nightlife, and a proper holiday feel. A cracking resort all round.

Unfortunately the snow wasn’t great when we visited and this meant the resort wasn’t as picturesque as it could be. We stayed in a small family run chalet which was basic but ok, however it was a long drive to the slopes. I have previously been to catered chalets with bigger companies which had a better atmosphere and more choice for food, especially dietary requirements. The resort wasn’t great for apres ski and I would say it’s better for those looking for a quiet break.

Excellent for beginners and snow sure. Also a good variety of reds and blacks for more advanced skiers with Le Tunnel to test the real experts.

It’s a nice resort but so many moguls and icey reds, slopes can so busy in the afternoon and all apres shuts at 6pm! Only a couple of restaurants to choose from which are expensive

Very nice, walkable, good for most ski-levels. Not for experienced skiers. Lots of ski-rental options for cheap

We enjoyed a weeks skiing and really enjoyed the cruising around the different villages and the main resort of Alpe d'Huez. But won't be going back as we'd completed it all in 4-5 days except for the Tunnel. But a great resort for beginners and families and those progressing onto the blues. The Sarenne isn't 16km/10 miles long, it's 7 miles long and a third of it is a blue/green flat track at the end but it is a lovely run and wasn't mogully as I'd previously read. Local food was really good especially the burgers at Smithys and the pizzas at Roti in Bergers. Watch being double charged at Chez Leo which was a nice chilled out bar but didn't go back after this. Also the restaurant at the bottom of Font Froid is very good and the service and welcome you get is good too. The Scare Chair is fun but not for those with a faint heart. The apres-ski is ok and the reason for the ok is that they are all spread around the slope. But, if like me, you don't mind walking then they are all good.

Excellent well spread out resort to navigate. Quiet and well looked after slopes . Great for families

We had some good piste snow but wasn’t the best for our off piste powder days this year. Being quite windy most of the fresh pow was whipped away. The very highest lift was also shut being repaired unfortunately, so only completing part of sorren. Food was good. Ramen and burger spot was very good. Smithy’s tavern with live music was the best. Our chalet was right on the slopes with good facilities. A very enjoyable resort for friends and families

Great blues and reds for intermediates. Some good blacks but good be more. Lots of runs to connect across Vaujany, Oz, Alp d’huez and Auris. Lifts can be a bit slower than in other places and some of the iconic black runs like The Tunnel can be weather dependent - was shut the whole time we were there due to a cable car lift failure. But great skiing on piste and some fun off piste elements. Overall highly recommend for the perfect combination of relaxing but challenging skiing in good conditions.

Good varied ski area with plenty of pistes for all levels, especially beginners as lots of nice greens and blues. La folie douce is quite high up so shuts early so Apres isn’t the best time wise but good when up there and good down at the bottom. Towns nice lots of good bars and restaurants and was also high enough to be covered in snow. Transfer isn’t too long from Grenoble or Geneva. Would go back

Alpe d'Huez was a fantastic ski resort for my second season. For other beginners, it had lovely spacious greens to get back into the swing, and then lots of easy blues to challenge myself with.

I did intermediate ski school with esf and had the best experience, great instructor who took us all over the resort in blues and my technique definitely improved.

One thing we noticed was the connectivity to other local resorts and areascwas very efficient by ski lift.

We would definitely go back.

Had the best time at alpes d’heuz, lovely sunny skiing, slopes were well maintained and accessible. Plenty to do for a week. If you are intermediate/advanced sarenne run is the best.

When visiting in 2024 the resort was great and the conditions were good considering we went late in the season. The had lots of runs good for all abilities. The night life was also great and had lots of different apres spots for those who love to apres.

Outstanding resort that has something for everyone. 3rd time to Alpe d'huez, it just keeps drawing me back. If the tunnel run is something that's drawing you there, you won't be disappointed, its a great run but be mindful the mogul fields can get wild in the afternoon.

Great resort for all levels with a really great area with green runs for building confidence. Lifts all well run and managed. Friendly atmosphere. Family friendly and also great apres ski.

Such a great resort, great access to the slopes, with an amazing choice and variety of ski runs for everyone! The most fun Green runs of any resort! … and I usually ski Blue & Red, so everyone can ski together. Lovely restaurants and fun bars too.

Amazing resort loved it proper party vibe and fitted our age group of 29-33 lovers of music and skiing
