Alpe d'Huez Review Summary

Alpe d'Huez attracts a broad range of skiers from beginners to experts, with users frequently noting the extensive green and blue runs that make it particularly suitable for learners and families. The resort's high altitude and sunny aspect are regularly mentioned, though this can lead to variable snow conditions lower down and slushy afternoons in spring. Multiple reviewers highlight the long runs, especially the Sarenne black, and the efficient lift system connecting to satellite villages like Vaujany and Oz. Après-ski receives mixed feedback, with Folie Douce praised but some users noting limited options and early closing times. Food quality both on-mountain and in town is consistently well-regarded, though prices are noted as typical for a French resort.

Good for beginners, nice green runs in the centre. Slopes groomed but unfortunately a bit icy during the first half of the week due to no snow for several weeks. Going over on the alpauris lift early morning was good, in the shade though so wrap up. We managed to cover most of the ski domain that was open in the 6 days we had a lift pass

Great resort for ski in ski out. Lots of variety for different levelled skiers. Some coloured runs not accurate so good to google before. Some blues harder than reds for example.

The resort has a good range of different pistes which can be great for anyone from beginner to advanced. The resort had been waiting for snow when we arrived as they had none for a month but were managing the pistes very well.

It was a very good night life, I went with my friends and was good value for skiing resorts - I did get food poising one of the nights but other than that the food was good but I think at some places overpriced for the quality. I was lucky and had good weather but the main ski park was shut and so maybe would be good for more if possible. Overall I did have a great experience and would recommend it to other people

Alpe d’Huez was a beautiful resort - great skiing with good snow if you’re lucky with the weather but even with 3 warm weeks the snow machines were doing a good job of keeping fresh powder on. Great shops and bars and great food. Lots of friendly staff and really helpful ECF professionals who helped me up once or twice when I took a tumble ! I would say that the higher runs are more advanced and have less options for blue and greens- a lot of good red runs but not great for beginners. Lower down is better for green and blues and the lifts (when they’re not closed due to bad weather!) allows for easy access to different parts.

Just returned from Alpe D’Huez and we had the most amazing ski holiday.

Fabulous resort with everything really close, and lots to do.

We didnt have any fresh snow. But the slopes were worked on a groomed all through the nights and early into the mornings to maintain good snow standards

The resort was busy, but not too busy and cues moved quick.

We stayed at Grande Rousse hotel spa and the stay was beautiful. Gorgeous hotel, helpful staff and great location.

Will definitely be returning ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First time skiing. We had a beautiful chalet that was ski in/ski out. A good lesson and there was a huge range of slopes and a lot to explore so quieter areas when you needed. The apres was boss and the local town has some good food, drink and spa options. I loved it and would go again. Just pretty expensive

Visited as part of a large company trip. Overall the weather massively let us down but could see the potential of the report. Easy travel around the resort incline a cable from hotel to lifts. Large ski area and plenty apres options. The town offered plenty of alternative activities, including an ice rink, outdoor lido, plenty of shops and great food options. Saloon after a cold day on the slopes was fantastic!

Les deux Alpes is a nice place. The longest slope is famous but actually quite disappointing if snow conditions are not perfect or when it gets busy. The snowpack was really good. Overall a very good ski especially for families.

Snow was weak initially but filled out and was groomed quickly. Good availability of runs if you planned lifts well to link runs. A few too many traverse runs. Black run from the top was heavy moguls which weaker skiers had a real hard time with which clogged up the slope. When you got through it was beautiful and long sweeping blacks/ reds with good speed and conditions.
