Everything was very efficient and friendly, but expensive. It was very cold in the first week of February, if I returned it would be later! The runs are short but well groomed, tree runs were good and off piste variable because of the wind. Food was good in the hotel, which was ski in and out with a little effort!

It was nice to ski in Ylläs because I hadn't skied for a long time. Slopes were ok although there could have been some easier to beginner. Unfortunatelly they had to close lifts in midafternoon because of heavy wind so I didn't get so much value of money for daypass. They could have told on previous day that I shouldn't buy daypass.

It was an amazing experience, especially the sunrise and sunsets and a bit of auroras there, but the down side is the gondola (at the south)was not working because of the wind for the whole week except half a day. And then we learned that the resort is usually windy at the top so gondola is not open 90% of the time. Also chairlift on the way was closed for the whole week. So mostly the only way to go up was a darn long and slow t-bar, otherwise you need to use only one third of the place. But still it was worth because the sunrise and sunsets and frozen cafe on top are like out of the world kind of experience. So for a vacation fully focused on snowboarding or skiing it is not the right place, but if you wanna experience some views like you feel like you are high with somethings, thats the place.

Ylläs in Finland is a snow paradise! The slopes cater to all levels! However I would say the more advanced skiers and boarders may lack a bit of option! The Lapland views are breathtaking, and the long ski season is a bonus. However, it can get crowded, affecting the experience (Like a lot of places) On the downside, i found it expensive for basic things such as food/drink/snacks! so budget-conscious skiers might want to keep that in mind!! Despite that, Ylläs remains a top choice for skiers wanting a mix of good runs and stunning scenery.
