Vitosha - Reviews & Ratings

Vitosha can be great as its so close to Sofia, its one of the best things about the city, however, theres no lift to take you up the mountain anymore so car is the only option. It was hard enough to park up the mountain where there was a lift, let alone now. There are only 3 slopes and thats if were lucky with the weather and theres enough snow, most times its just one available, lift is old and slow so be ready for long queues.

Resort delivers an all-around great experience for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. With diverse terrain, modern amenities, and a charming mountain village atmosphere, its a solid choice for families, beginners, and experienced riders alike. The resorts relatively manageable crowds (especially on weekdays) and scenic views make it a standout for those looking to enjoy a well-rounded winter getaway.

Vitosha has only one slope working these days. Unfortunately, the lift to get there has been closed so only option to get to the slope is by car. There have never been enough parking spaces before let alone now, also weather doesnt always allow to go up by car simply because roads are not cleaned. Slope is nice, often icy but its very convenient to go skiing for anyone living in Sofia.

Considering the price of the resort and ease of travel Id say its well worth a visit. Its well tailored for all levels and could definitely be fun as a family trip. I would consider myself intermediate and I was more than happy with the runs. Overall great atmosphere and beautiful scenery which is always a bonus. Id recommend coming here if youre after a budget friendly trip. Id imagine the more advanced skiers may not get all they want from this resort but for the casual skier its perfect!
