Great for a few days, good chairlifts in the main area, very cheap. However the different areas are not connected, e.g. 10 min walk between lower area chairlifts and gondola for high area.

Great resort for families, and cheap and cheerful to start your skiing holiday journey, Borovets will not break the bank. The skiing can be as good as anywhere else in Europe when the snow is good, and it normally is....️️️️

pros are the quiet slopes good amount of runs there are some problems with ski lift and snow coverage restaurants arent very good only a few nice ones ski school is amazing perfect for beginners a tip is to do the night skiing

The lesser counterpart to Bansko, although they are very similar you can expect to pay a little bit more for a little less. It is nonetheless still very good and the quality of the runs is slightly less exciting compared to that in Bansko. I would recommend this to more experienced skiers or snowboarders who are looking for a relatively cheap ski trip

Nice ski area, unfortunately a walk between the two lifts
Snow can be a little slushy in the afternoon

I have been a few times and it can depend on when you go as in beginning or end of season, its a relatively small mountain but for beginners to intermediates its a very good resort to learn on as theres a nice variety of everything and it is pretty quiet compared to most. I have been once where there isnt much snow and the gondola is closed, you are left with a couple of chair lifts and you will get bored after a couple of days if you arent a beginner. The food is amazing around the area especially the Mexican. Never ever go to the hotel festa, it is trash and compared to the others it needs to be dramatically refurbished. Its only redeeming quality is its close to the chair however if you want to go on the gondola its a long walk, any other hotel is better.

Borovets was an extremely good resort for beginners, lots of easy slopes and easy slopes all the way up the mountain so couldnt get bored. Went with a mixed ability group, the advanced skiers ran out after 4/5 days but generally everyone had a good time. This was aided by the cost effectiveness of everything from travel to beers and food. A very good family ski resort, not necessarily aimed at groups of 20 year olds, which is what we were.

excellent resort to learn skiing or boarding, with limited mid range runs and a few really nice black runs there are plenty of runs to play on for a weeks holiday.

Great place to go and learn either skiing or snowboarding, everyone is super nice and chill. Amazingly cheap prices for a quick get away.

A good resort with a brilliant Apres-ski. If a capable skier, you could complete the resort in 2-3 days as it is split in two different areas with the gondala at one side of the town and the chair lifts for the other part of the resort at the other. This is a good spot if you are wanting a good night life or a short trip however 6 days for me was too long! There are good options for both beginners and advanced skiers.

A basic but charming ski resort. Pistes can be very overcrowded, especially at peak times with runs becomming choped up or very icy. Lift queues (particularly for the gondola) can be horrendous.

When the snow is good there is some great tree skiing to be had and areas to shred some decent powder. However, the snow can be variable so best to check snow conditions before booking.

The resort itself has traditional charm and the food is great with many restaurants cooking on open barbecues outside. The apres ski is also very lively in the town centre (check out BJ's bar at the gondola end of town). As such, the resort is popular with stag and hen parties but there is also lots for families to do to.

Accommodation can be a little basic but more luxury Accommodation can be found, particularly at the Hotel Rila.

Borovets is a great option if youre after a budget-friendly ski trip. When I went, the snow wasnt greatsome patchy areasbut there were still enough runs open to have a decent time on the slopes. The higher areas were better for snow, so its worth sticking to those when conditions arent perfect.

The hotels were a bit of a walk from the lifts, which wasnt ideal, especially when youre carrying all your gear, but its manageable. What really stood out, though, was how cheap everything was. Lift passes, food, drinksit was all way more affordable than most other resorts Ive been to.

If you go, maybe rent a locker near the lifts to avoid the daily haul with your skis or board. And definitely try out the local restaurantsbig portions of hearty food for hardly any money. Après-ski is more chilled than somewhere like Val Thorens, but its still fun, and you can enjoy a night out without spending loads.

Its not the fanciest place, but for the price, its solid, and you can still have a really good time.

Overall great resort, however without good snowfall only a few slopes are open. It is divided in 3 areas, generally the first one is full of children but has great artificial snow facilities as well as the second one. Whereas the third one is high in the mountain, does not have artificial snow facilities but has a lot of off-piste skiing and powder opportunities.

I myself am a intermediate skier how every my partner is not, she never skied before so she did the ski lessons and from not been able to ski to getting to the point is was at the end of the week was unbelievable the ski school and the instructors were amazing

The resort is small but it is incredibly cheep and everything you need is around you. Loads of Choice for hotels or where to go out to eat and drink However not many places to eat on the actual slops. Most was at the bottom of the slopes in the resort.

The slopes are mostly green and blue but had there fair share of red and black aswell The slopes at the bottom of the resort tend to be very busy this is because its where the ski school is, however up the gondola the slopes were more challenging and were less busy made for better skiing.

The resort is perfect for first time skiers and familys I would definitely recommend Borovets

Borovets is the poor mans ski resort, in the past it was well worth the failings considered the value but prices have crept up over the last few years but the resort hasnt changed much to justify the hike. At one time the ski apre was fantastic but most of the restaurants are near empty and lack atmosphere. They obviously tried to clean up the resorts by closing (most off) the adults entertainment venues which had encouraged a dominant male presence in the resort. The ski pass has doubled, but the slopes if they have snow are generally well groomed and up the top its great fun. Verdict ; not that cheap no more but with a good snowfall still a fun experience. Snowfall can be unpredictable !!!

Week in the Samokov hotel, Great place with some other activities including bowling, shooting and more
Nice and close little walk up the street to the chairlifts and gondala
Very family friendly places including a spot that remembered my family from the previous year
Booked last minute due to watching webcams for the snow report
Not the biggest of resorts but amazing if on a budget, starting out or just wanna have some fun, highly recommend

Went for a few days last minute in February having only experienced French ski resorts prior to this so didnt know what to expect. It was obviously a lot smaller compared to the French alps. The runs are good but can get overcrowded when one side gets shut fun and can be queuing for 30 mins while everyone filters through. However, everybody was friendly didnt feel like I was being judged on my ability, all the restaurants were very welcoming and served good meals all day. Will definitely be coming back some day.

Had a really great time, wonderful atmosphere, didnt feel confident enough to go night skiing so cant comment on that but had fresh powder day 1 and it was great. Towards the end no more snow came down so a little icy but cant be helped. Only bad thing I can say is when you first go in getting your skis is a bit of a long task and not organised very well, took a long time and would recommend getting there early.

Borovets is an amazing report for beginners and anyone who is coming back to skiing! - the latter was me, I had a break of around 25 years!
Apre ski is great, bars and restaurants of all kinds to choose from, many with entertainment or sports bars. Good selection of foods from different countries.
A great variety of runs, there are greens with button lifts for beginners, with bars available when the bruises or confidence needs a little massage, around the rest of the Rila or Gondola sides there are many more runs the majority are blue & red, with a few challenging blacks.
None of the runs are particularly long so you do spend a fair bit of time either queuing or on the ski lifts!
