Great resort, family friendly and great slopes.

Lovely large resort so there are runs that you have all to yourself sometimes. The lifts are great and efficient.
Food was lush and we had a fantastic time.

Schladming has an excellent lift system with modern lifts a lot of which have heated seats(a real plus when it’s cold). There is extensive snow making and the pistes were well groomed during our stay. The slopes were nowhere as busy as I expected which was a big plus.Lots of restaurants on the slopes and we always got a table even though there were seven of us.The apres ski was not up to much compared to other Austrian resorts I’ve visited but that was the only negative I can think of.

We visited with our family of older (working age!) children, and I was the lowest level skier. The slopes were in excellent condition, especially considering, the lower snowfall this season; they had clearly been very busy making snow. It was a bit busier than I expected, being the first week after new year, but still very quiet compared to the school holidays! The lifts were very efficient, mountain restaurants very good and reasonably priced. We skied nearly the whole area, just not the two furthest mountains from the centre, as we would have to have got a ski bus. It was great to ski the night slalom slope.

Modern and fast lift system. The best snow making system in the Alps and mainly North facing slopes so holds the snow well. Fun apres ski with good music. Typically Austrian. Would love to go back but not many English companies seem to go there at present.
