A good ski resort with a lift pass that can access a massive ski area. However the free shuttle is confusing to use in the local area so would advise having a car. Ski area was low as well so some slopes were closed and limited access near the top. Very good for the locals but if you're coming for a week it can be pot luck. Good food and drinks with lovely local people.

Bad Kleinkircheim is a hidden gem. It has great skiing & excelkent restaurants, all at a more affordable price than the headline resorts in the alps. It is a very family friendly resort geared towards intermediate skiers/boarders. Skiing at a different pace than the mega resorts, people enjoy their day here, sores starts with a schnapps or bombardino at 11am !

I worked there as an instructor for a season in 2022/23. And found that overall it was a very good resort. Albeit it was not the best season for snow in Europe that year so with more snow my experience could be slightly different. There are 2 main areas in BKK (Kaiserburg & St Oswald). Kaiserburg is very good for beginners as its gondola is easily accessible and has a grimmer run all the way to the bottom, however in peak season that run can get very busy and icy. This a a trend at the resort where things can get very firm and icy and if youre not an experienced skier can prove challenging. It does not have massive amounts to offer higher level skiers however as it is mainly a novice/intermediate resort. Not too many very steep runs and no dedicated mogul fields. There are some decent areas where you can go powder hunting if youre with a local who can show you around. There are also a lot of trees that you can weave your way in and out of. The ski school well organised and ran efficiently but like all resorts in Austria can suffer from very large group sizes (up to 13), that only really happens in kids lessons though. Adult groups tend to be less busy. If youre booking a private they will try to cater to your language needs and set you up with a higher standard of instructor. Apres on the slopes is good but the selection of places to go in the evening is more limited. Compared to other more popular resorts it is slightly cheaper though. There is a good selection of ski-in ski-out accommodation in resort or if youre prepared to drive up everyday you can find very affordable in the nearby town of Feld-am-See. Overall a very pleasant resort for an affordable family holiday but maybe not the best for the most adventurous skiers amongst us.

Solid ski resort and a good place to learn if youre a beginner. Runs can be busy and lower down the snow has previously ran a little thin by the end of the day but plenty of options further up. Nice wide pistes for those beginners, and a few kickers for those who fancy a but of air time. Opportunity for some off piste hitting some lines through the trees. Ski lift efficiency is pretty decent, not too much waiting around compared to busier resorts - and occasionally if you pick the right one, free prosecoo! Couple of anchor lifts / T bar lifts to navigate if youre not a fan Overall a solid place to go, not too expensive, apres in the mountain is mainly bars rather than club type vibes
