What Skiers Say About Grandvalira: Soldeu

Grandvalira: Soldeu draws primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring heavily. Reviewers consistently praise the ski school quality, wide and well-groomed pistes, and value for money compared to Alpine resorts. The resort is described as quieter and more relaxed than neighbouring Pas de la Casa, with limited but adequate nightlife. Great family resort. Intermediates very well catered for but sadly many of the more challenging reds and blacks were closed until our last day due to lack of snow. However snow to all Grandvalira resorts was great right into villages.

I go skiing with beginner skiers, find this place easy on the wallet, not too big, great night live. Limited black runs but I have fun on anything. Just good being with others having a laugh.
Flights and travel to the resort are always easy. Not sure about the night these days but hit it on a god proud and its fab.

Thoroughly enjoyable week spent with 2 young kids.
"This is the best day of my life" my son tells me on the ski lift!

Ski school amazing and the kids came on so well. Tutors we fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them.

Hotel was a 2 minute minibus ride away and the hotel was very comfortable. Plenty of space and activities for the kids to be kept occupied in the evenings.

People very friendly and willing to strike up conversations nearly everywhere we went.

A great value holiday - not as expensive as France or Italy, but no better place for the kids to start out. Will definitely be back.

Andorra is a great resort with enough variety to keep most skiers entertained. Not a lot of tough black runs but really entertaining reds and blues. Great on piste bars and restaurants to enjoy in the sun. Love it

Grandvallira was great! Spent 6 days there with my friends, and stayed at an Air BnB. Honestly, the first two days were rather dismal with rain but that didn't stop us from fully exploring the bottom of the mountain at Soldeu. However, the remaining 4 days were perfect. We were able to enjoy the powder and explore all the resort. The snow cannons were helpful and really made an amazing trip. There weren't many moguls, until the last powder day, where they showed up everywhere. Only disappointing aspect was that a few of the chair lifts were constantly shut, which made it a bit harder to get across the resort quickly. Otherwise, absolutely loved it and super cheap pints on the mountain!

Learnt to ski here, easy to get to know the mountain and its connected to other resorts to keep you busy for a solid week. Not the highest of peaks so can be risky late in the season but when the weather's good it's incredible. Plus it's a tax haven so there's that!

Family friendly resort. Enough variety of runs to cater for all ability levels. Great childcare options and fantastic ski school with fluent English instructors. Much cheaper than France or Italian alps resorts, but also enough runs to keep everyone happy

Just went to this resort mid January for my 21st birthday with about 16 of us. Some good skiers and snowboarders but a very mixed ability group. The slopes were great for all riders with plenty of slopes for everyone. The off piste is amazing especially with fresh powder ofc and I cant fault the lifts at all as they are so efficient. The mountains arent exactly the steepest admittedly but there are a couple good black runs and a couple of diamonds. We were a bit worried about food catering due to the fact there were 16 of us. However this was no issue at all as we were seated together at every meal which was amazing. Fat Alberts was ofc the go to nighttime club with a brilliant atmosphere and live djs every night. My hotel recommendation would also be Hotel Piolets as its affordable but also very high quality with very good food, staff and bar/ drink. A pint cost 4.50 (Heineken). Highly recommend going here
