What Skiers Say About Grandvalira: Pas de la Casa

Grandvalira: Pas de la Casa attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from first-timers to advanced riders, with many reviews coming from UK visitors seeking budget-friendly trips. The resort is consistently praised for affordability, extensive interconnected terrain across the Grandvalira area, and a lively après-ski and nightlife scene. Snow quality receives mixed feedback—reliable at higher altitude with effective snow cannons, but prone to ice and slush in warmer periods or late season. The town itself is frequently described as lacking alpine charm, with concrete architecture, though dining and shopping options are plentiful and well-priced. Wind closures on upper lifts can restrict access to the wider ski area, confining riders to lower greens. Transfer times from Barcelona (3-4 hours) are a common complaint.

I enjoyed my visit to Andorra - the snow was good quality and I enjoyed the option of the lift pass where lunch vouchers were included.

Resorts are well maintained and groomed, and there are little queues. I found it was very good value for money for a smaller resort.

I had some mixed ability in my group and everyone enjoyed the trip.

Went on a uni ski trip and was all round a good time. Good skiing and great nightlife. Downside is there seems to be an issue with drink spiking so be extra vigilant.

Visited Andorra as a first time skier and left after a full day of reds, a great resort to hone your skills. The resort is connected to many others with plenty of intermediate runs to get you there so I didnt struggle after finding my feet. Apres was so so, we still made the most of it. The food within pas was delicious, especially the LHusky burger straight off the slopes, Id definitely go again.

I went to Pas de la Casa on a ski trip with friends which was an amazing experience. The resort has several wide slopes which are fairly quiet so it is a suitable resort for beginners. I highly recommend the area of Soldeau for its tree lined runs. For apres, I recommend Coll Blanc!

I chose to try andorra as a change to the usual trip to somewhere in the Apls. Andorra has always been famous for being less busy and more affordable and for these reasons should be on ever skiers list. It is a smaller ski area with less challenging slopes so the expert level skier might find more joy skiing elsewhere but for anyone still gaining confidence and wishing to practice on quieter slopes then this is the place to go. The locals are very friendly and the town even boasts fantastic shopping options so even the non-snow goers have plenty to do.

Lovely resort. Visited from 19th to 26th January 2025.
Apres ski very good at the top of the mountain from 3.30pm until 5pm. Then carried on at Soul Bar at the bottom.
Three ski lifts at bottom of slope and 1 gondola. Snow cannons on at night as we had no snow - until the morning we left! ‍️
We stayed at Hotel Cubil - lovely clean, family run hotel 100 meters from the slopes: turned right out of hotel walked very slightly uphill for approx 100meters then through Soul Bar covered walk way straight onto the slope. Then skied 100 meters or so down to the lifts - absolutely ideal. Ski lockers provided at hotel free of charge. No boot room but we took skis into the room to dry.
The lower slopes seemed a bit icy in the mornings due to milder weather during the day but lifts took us up to beautiful blue and red runs. Good bkackvruns fir the mire experinnce A small number of slopes were shut due to lack of snow and no snow cannons but plenty of others to use which were excellent.
We travelled with Crystal Ski for just under £1000 including ski & boot hire plus half board.

Good but bad weather ruined a lot. Good amount of restaurants to eat at with every cuisine to choose from. Apres was very good but only 1 place to go. Pistes were as good as they could be considering the conditions which were very poor as it was very hot. This resulted in a lot of ice and skiing became very difficult very quickly. Very good value for money and very friendly and helpful locals. Exploring the variety of different slopes that the pass has access to was very enjoyable and the off piste was fun in the places that still had powder. Tree runs are my favourite and there was a lot of variety.

Great resort with plenty of wide and connecting runs to explore across a few days. Majority runs are blue and red but varied difficultly so provides great variety. Weather conditions were challenging during our stay but the resort did a great job to supplement with snow canons etc. Loads of restaurant choices in the town and on the slopes at very reasonable cost.

Great pistes and skiing, very well maintained considering high winds and in need of a natural snow top up. 90% of the area skiable. Great value accommodation and located just 2 mins from the piste. Plenty of shops in town to stock up on supplies all reasonably priced too. Self drive transfer from Barcelona was straightforward. Highly recommend for a long weekend
