What Skiers Say About Calabogie Peaks

Calabogie Peaks attracts primarily intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers noting it as Ontario's tallest ski resort and the best option within the Ottawa region. The most consistent praise centres on well-groomed runs, minimal lift queues (especially midweek), friendly staff, and excellent snow-making capabilities. Reviewers frequently mention the lack of a ski village atmosphere, limited food options, and slow fixed-grip quad lifts that result in longer rides up than down. Several users note the terrain can become icy, particularly later in the day, and some mention confusion with run signage where trails cross over each other. The terrain park receives little attention in reviews, with some noting it was closed or underwhelming.

Good ski resort with great runs! I have been there several times and everytime had a great time going down the slopes. They make snow too so it makes for a great day in the hills. Love this place close to Ottawa.

Calabogie is our local hill. We have been regulars there for many years. It can be icy at times and it hasn't had all runs open for the last three seasons due to lack of snow, but their staff and ski school is great. We appreciate it for being a great starter hill for our kids.

My experience was good at this ski hill, it was fairly quite and the runs were nicely groomed. However the park was closed at the time, and there is a lack of tree runs at this resort.

If you go on a weekend it will be extremely busy and the lifts are slow. But on a weekday the hill is open and the lifts are fast. The runs are always well groomed and there a lot of fun off piste trails.

Been to calabogie peak early last season and first thing that was flagrant is that the mountain was quite small. Which is not a big deal. Then, the base chalet was not that impressive, barely enough space to get dressed up and finding a secure spot for you bags is nearly impossible. Chair lift are slow and crowded but the slopes are nice and well maintained. Terrain park wasn't operational at that time but from what i could see, there was not much to look forward to anyway. The off track experience was amazing.

Great hill close to Ottawa. Staff is great. Lift lines not very big though the week. A little busier on weekends. The live entertainment at black Donald pub is great

Went here with my family for my sister's birthday weekend getaway and had such a great time. Being a patron of the peaks resort gave us such great access to everything we wanted. Such a cozy and clean experience and everything was within walking distance. Very spacious slopes and easy to navigate. A great assortment of runs, fun for all levels and great view of the lake. Definitely worth the drive, and if you need kid friendly or pet friendly accommodations those are available nearby as well!
