Very close to the city of Calgary. A decent selection of runs at various difficulty levels. Very well maintained. Can be a bit crowded on weekends and holidays.

Nikiska was designed and built in preparation for the 1988 Winter Olympics. If you like ripping on groomers, GS style, this hill has enough elevation to put a smile on your fache.

With 1,021 skiable acres over 64 runs, Nikiski has a blend of 16% greens, 70% blues, and 10% single blacks. The hill has enough terrain to meet the most demanding beginner to advanced skier.... however, for the experts reading, only having 4% double blacks and limited back-country access, the hill lacks its luster in this area!

If hard-core tertian is desired, check out Kicking Horse down the road a few hours; another superb RCR resort! Breathtaking, for sure.

Personally, Nikiska is one of my favourite hills. It's close to Calgary, very economical, the staff is friendly, a family favourite, and the RCR staff do an excellent job running the joint.

Simply put, the hill is stellar to get out, rip 10 to 15 runs back-to-back, grab a coffee, and rip it up again! On lax days, it's a great hill to crush the day, giving smiles per snowy miles!
