I can be at Nakiska an hour from my door. Runs that are open are in good shape considering the lack of natural snow we have had this year. I ski during the week mostly and it is busy enough to have chair chat with someone.I ski weekends with my great nephews and niece I find it can be a little busy but generally not overwhelmingly so. I like the ability to drop my gear off in the drive, park my vehicle and do the reverse at the end of the day. Always room in the day lodge to leave bags inside. Food is consistent and tasty, a little pricey but everywhere is like that now.All in all a great place to ski alone of with your extended family (which can be up to 15 of us)

Nakiska goes above and beyond to create memorable experiences for families, first time riders, and those who enjoy avoiding long line ups. There are hidden gems to be found and on a clear day, the views are breathtaking. The ski school is one of the most competitively priced in the Bow Valley, and the instructors know how to ensure safety, learning and fun! For a more intimate experience with the mountains of Kananaskis, Nakiska is worth the hour drive from Calgary. ,

Great family mountain, close to Calgary. Snow making equipment ensures that there is a good snow pack even if the weather is not cooperating.

the resort was beautiful and hotel was incredible (albeit expensive) but all of the runs were sheets of ice and it was hard to find nice snow.

Great local hill, its not the biggest or most impressive in the area. I wouldnt put it on my list if visiting western Canada for a big mountain ski trip, but for locals the runs and infrastructure are great for a quick day on the hill. Close to Calgary, usually not too busy, and well maintained terrain. Their mid-mountain lodge is a great place to eat your brown bag lunch and recharge before taking on the rest of your day!

Nakiska is not in a high snow fall area, but groomers can be really good if out early in the morning. The Glades are a lot of fun when there is enough snow. It is the closet ski resort to Calgary and can get very busy on weekends and holidays.

Tends to be quite icy. Some decent tree runs. Was very quiet midweek. The restaurant at the base is decent

Nakiska is a hill that is really geared towards ski race training. If that is what you are looking for, Nakiska is the best of the best. They have awesome groomed runs and rent lane space to ski race teams from around the world. They have great snowmaking capability and plenty of groomers freshening the hill each night laying down the corduroy. For off-piste or powder skiing, its not the best. The glades can be fun when they get enough snow. But more often than not its pretty thin cover and you spend your time scraping along roots and rocks. That said, if you want consistent groomed runs with a nice pitch, there are plenty to be had at nakiska.

Nakiska is a great bang for your buck, short commute resort but that being said there is plenty of quality turns to be had here. The groomers are some of my favorite to lap as they flow very nicely with lots of space. The glades at the top are great fun when there's a good snow year or lots of wind loading them.

Nakiska Ski Resort is a great place. Situated only 1.2 hours from the nearest city of Calgary, its an easy drive. The mountain is smaller than its competitors, however the nice thing is much less wait times and almost no lineups. The lift operators are all very friendly, and the lifts are efficient. The hill can be icy, however they work hard to keep everything groomed and safe. They are currently making snow and working to get everything open for the season. I would recommend bringing your own food and coffee as options are limited and fairly pricey. Backcountry style runs are there but limited. Overall a great hill.
