Happo-One is the flagship resort of Hakuba Valley, known for its long, fast groomers, big vertical, and impressive alpine scenery. As one of Japan’s premier ski areas, it offers wide, well-maintained pistes that appeal to confident intermediates and advanced skiers, along with steep faces and off-piste routes that drop from the upper ridgelines. The resort’s high elevation and north-facing aspects help maintain excellent snow quality, while its Olympic pedigree hosting events during the 1998 Nagano Games adds to its big-mountain feel.

In the resort, Happo Village blends convenience with Japanese charm, offering easy access to lifts, a range of hotels and ryokan, and plenty of natural hot springs for post-ski recovery. With excellent grooming, dramatic views of the Northern Alps, and terrain that rewards speed and strong technique, Happo-One delivers a polished, classic Hakuba experience ideal for skiers who love long, satisfying runs in a stunning mountain setting. Happo also gives you freedom to explore other towns and villages found in the Hakuba Valley. It's the perfect base for anyone itching to ski the region.

Recent Reviews

The resort is well connected to Nagano station via bus. You can easily reach daily also other resorts. There are many accommodations which are walking distance from the Gondola lift. Quality of powder is superb. Skipass for the all valley are available at competitive prices. Overall services (accommodation, eating out, equipment rentail, onsen ) are great and available at different price ranges. Local people are always helpful and available. English information are widely available. The cons: the ski schools, most of the English speaking instructors are first season, not used to Japanese powder and not really helpful to teach in that setting.

Hakuba Happone is a great resort! If you want to experience amazing powder this is definitely what Id recommend, on top of that it has close proximity to all the resort in Hakuba which have great variety of terrain, off pirate and touring if you enjoy that. The lifts are slightly old but still runs very smoothly even with the lack of foot rests.

Spent a Season here. Local Ski School are amazing highly recommended. When the conditions are right the off piste is perfect. Also good mogul options to work on technique. Lift could do with an upgrade when its busy the queues can be pretty long. Food if you go into hakiba can find some very very nice places to eat.
