Furano is a scenic ski resort in central Hokkaido. As with other Japanese resorts, it’s known for its high-quality, dry powder and nicely groomed slopes. The mountain is split into two areas. Furano and Kitanomine both offer a good mix of terrain for all abilities. This is a great hybrid resort, offering many of the amenities of a modern resort without the heavily manufactured feel. You’ll find fantastic local cuisine, a relaxed village atmosphere, and picturesque views of the Tokachidake mountain range. If you’re looking for Japanese pow, a great range of terrain, and an authentic mountain experience, then Furana is definitely worth a look.

Furano is a gem! Night skiing is sick. Slopes are affordable. There are amazing restaurants in town and on the hill. Off piste through the gates is unreal riding. Know before you go there's plenty of spots for avi gear rentals.

Having been in Furano I havent been able to keep myself away from the powder! The runs are so consistent with snow cover and the ability to move around the resort is awesome! Japan lives up to its name and Furano sits at the top!

Really great option for getting away from the busy areas of Niseko. Can be quite quiet but overall a great place to relax and enjoy heaps of snow.
