Niseko gets solid marks from families, with one user mentioning it's a great destination for groups with kids. The powder snow makes learning particularly forgiving – as one intermediate skier pointed out, when you're starting out, it's brilliant because "it's soft when you fall over even on the piste". However, it's worth noting that beginners might find it challenging. An expert skier who spent a season there mentioned the beginner area is quite limited, suggesting nearby Annupuri might be better for total novices. Still, the resort caters well to mixed-ability families once everyone's got their snow legs.
