Quality skiing for Virginia - when the mountain is open to full capacity. When open runs are limited, it can get quite crowded on limited slopes and lifts can get really bogged down. This place really shines with it's expert terrain because it's isolated enough to keep it largely uncrowded. Again, so much better when all the runs are open, which doesn't often happen.

Eating and apres options are basically non-existent. Yes, they have stay options, but this is best experienced as a day trip for locals.

This was a wonderful place for people living in central VA and learning to ski. There are a ton of mellow runs that span throughout the different lodges and it had a wonderful family feel with night skiing included. It wasnt too crowded when we went on a normal weekend. Lifts were slow and mountain is small but it is great for beginners!
