Bromley is an amazing family mountain, with lots of terrain to help riders advance in the sport, as well as a very welcoming atmosphere. The slopes are quiet, allowing you to have free and open runs almost anywhere on the mountain. This is a great mountain for learning to ski as well as a really fun one if you want to avoid the crowds of bigger mountains surrounding that area.

For my taste in skiing, Bromley was a positive experience. I will preface this review by stating I went in early January before the entire mountain was open. But I did get a chance to ski on a day where they received 7, a rain day that skied like spring, and a firm hard packed day. Located in a 5 mile radius of Stratton and Magic Mountain, Bromley seemed to be the best option for those who like a decent mixture of terrain with low crowds in the area. Ill start with the negatives. While Bromleys infrastructure is what youd expect from a small mountain in southern Vermont, it was still lacking. Food was terrible and overpriced (an industry norm) and there was very low staffing during the week which meant food was made to order and took a decent amount of time.. Also, the grooming at this mountain was lack luster. I will again assume it is due to staffing issues but many groomed trails were only half groomed or even less. This would usually make me very happy but on the day that I was there and it rained (making it impossible to ski that concrete on the ungroomed parts) the groomed lines got skied out quickly and exposed lots of dormant ice which ruined some trails. Lastly, every lift besides the high speed quad is abhorrent. They are slow doubles that seem to have been designed for a time when people were shorter and skinnier. On to the positives, Bromleys trails are designed very well in my eyes. They separate the mountain into beginner/intermediare trails on one side and advanced/expert trails on the other. This does a great job of separating people by ability which means no parents have to look over there shoulder for a 20 year old trying to run over their child. Also, Bromley embraces classic Vermont trails (narrow and windy) while also doing a great job of having wide and straight trails for nice GS turns. Also, whether intentional or not, the woods have a nice mix of dense and spread out terrain which allows you to ski narrow glades and wider, more open trees in one run. Also, while there were some interesting staff workers at Bromley (not unique to this mountain) the staff was overwhelmingly positive and nice. Moreover, the high speed quad is so out of place when compared to the rest of the mountain infrastructure that its such a nice respite that helps you forget about those slow double chairs. And the views at the peak are wonderful. The last thing that I wanted to touch on is the price. I am very biased when it comes to pricing. I have a multi-mountain ski pass so I dont often think about prices. Being $99 flat when I went, it seemed steep since it was a weekday but compared to the nearby mountains and being near bougie Manchester, VT, its not too surprising. Overall, I liked Bromley but dont believe it should be considered for a multi-day ski trip. If youre in the area, I wouldnt be surprised if you love this mountain. However, if youre picking a destination ski trip in VT, I could probably list 10 better mountains to go to.

I believe that Bromley Mountain aka Sun mountain is beautiful and has a lot to offer from good restaurants at the base to a solid terrain park with many different levels of terrain. They have great groomed trails and are extremely friendly but there is no trails devoted to keeping it nice soft and powdery (when they get a lot of snow). All aside the mountain is beautiful, small, has great views, and is amazing for people of all terrain.
