Had a great few days of skiing in late Dec. Fast lifts and lift lines and feels less "Midwest" skiing than other Midwest resorts I have been to in WI. Worth a vistit!

Been going to Crystal Mountain since I was about three for every Canadian march break. My grandparents would rent a chateau for a week and wed spend all day on their slopes. Some of my fondest childhood memories are on this mountain. I learned how to ski in their ski school and I tried (unsuccessfully) to learn how to snowboard as well.
Crystal Mountain will always hold an immensely special place in my heart. The on-piste were always really solid, and the tree runs were awesome. Massive property with lots of forested areas.
One season, our family was scheduled to go and I was upset because I wanted to stay home and hangout with my best-friend. Little did I know, his family had also booked a week at this place, unbeknownst to my family and I. It was hilarious running into my best friend on the mountain. The following four years, my friends family booked a neighbouring chateau to ours. I was able to spend march break with my childhood best-friend right up until 2015 when he passed away.
I will always look back on that last season on the slopes with him as an almost a happy goodbye and send-off. That final season gave me one of my fondest memories with him, where we both broke our wrists trying to snowboard on the same day.

Love this hill. Worth the trip.
