I went to Wisp for Presidents Day weekend and I was pleasantly surprised! The resort does a really good job of distributing the crowds. Didnt stay in a lift line longer than 15 minutes on a day that rentals were completely sold out, and all the employees were very nice. For a small mountain in the mid Atlantic, I was impressed with the variety of different runs, my favorite being The Face which was an ungroomed run that looked down on the whole resort. Would definitely come back to beat the crowds on a holiday and get another coffee at Espresso Alley, a coffee cart in McHenry that was SO good!

Wisp is a great resort on the east coast for beginner skiers and snowboarders. It does take time after the season begins to get all terrain open, but that is mainly due to the unpredictable weather conditions. It can be 0 degrees one week and 60 degree the next. Snow making equipment is gradually being upgraded, which will help. Grooming overall is decent. There are good long green trails that are perfect for beginners. Black terrain does have a good slope, but are fairly short due to the mountain height. Most trails are groomers with there being 2-3 that are only open with a fresh dumping of snow. Unfortunately, that means some years Bobcat Bowl and Devils Drop may not open.
There are 7 chairlifts total with 2 being quads and 5 are triples. Chair 2 and 3(the main lifts) do seem to take longer, but is typically due to them being next to the beginner area. Most of the frustrating parts of this mountain is because of newbies not knowing or understanding rules of the mountain. Everyone needs to start somewhere.
There is a main lodge that is not far from the lifts but can be a hassle when returning to a lift because of walking on slight incline on snow before being able to skate the remaining distance. Dcs Bar and Grill and Wispers are restaurants/bars within the lodge, plus there is typical grab and go available.
There is the Sundown Village that is several yurts near the beginner area. The yurts house a second rental shop, Wispkidz Ski School, Ski patrol, and a café. The café does have a bar and seating but is small for the amount of people. It is a good distance from the main lodge, so people do not want to make that trek.
Snow tubing and a mountain coaster are also available at the resort.
Overall Wisp is a decent small town resort that can become busy being 2-3 hours from both Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

The Wisp has become such a disappointment and waste of a good Skiing day. The last 2 times I was at the Wisp the conditions were more or less the same. Less than 6 runs open, huge 20 meter areas in the middle of slopes that were just mud and dirt. The coverage was horrible! Expensive Too! I can honestly say that I will not be going to the wisp again in my life without evidence of a major change.
