What Skiers Say About Telluride
Telluride is frequently visited by advanced and expert skiers who praise the diverse terrain, minimal lift queues, and stunning mountain scenery. The resort's remote location in a box canyon keeps crowds low, though this also makes access difficult via Montrose airport and a 75-minute drive. Reviewers consistently highlight the free gondola connecting Telluride town to Mountain Village and the variety of terrain from groomed blues to steep expert runs and tree skiing. However, the cost is a recurring complaint, with multiple users calling it extremely expensive for lift tickets, accommodation, dining, and parking, particularly under Vail ownership. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with some noting great powder days while others mention limited terrain during poor snow years.

There is a free gondola that runs between the town of Telluride and the other side of the mountain called Mountain Village. The town of Telluride is in a box canyon and has kept the charm of yesteryear. There’s plenty of casual and fine dining restaurants and some nightlife. Not easy to get to but well worth the effort.
I would not travel here bc you might find he's got another petty wage war happening and resort is closed
Never had an issue with the kids, there were a lot of family-friendly options. Theres plenty of accommodation and even if its not near the skiing area, it is quite easy and trouble-free to get there.
Great restaurants.
A lot of off piste runs off the back of the resort.
Great old mining villages in the area and can also drive to Silverton for some Cat skiing.
