Lovely resort. The locals all say "Please don't tell anyone about this place," which of course I'm violating with this review. Some good elevation, nicely-groomed slopes, great views, and a low price. The main problem: antique chairlifts, including two-seaters with the pole in the middle. Yikes! But once you get off them, the resort is all yours. I recommend a day at Sunlight to or from the larger, more famous resorts in the vicinity--which shall remain nameless here. The town of Glenwood Springs is also great for a night or two, especially if you (or a non-skier in your party) would care to enjoy a dip in the hot springs.

I have personally been riding Sunlight more than most other resorts this 23-24 Winter season and I can say that it easily tops the surrounding bigger resorts (snowmass, aspen, vail, beavercreek, etc.). In terms of crowds, they are pretty much nonexistent at Sunlight. The snow? Freaking phenomenal! The groomers? Fast as hell! The lifts may be quite a bit older and slower being as they are fixed grips from the 1960s but literally everything else about the resort is top notch. Only the coolest people seem to work there and ride there! I have loved being out in that environment, around the quiet trees in the deeper powder stashes, and being able to have world class views from the top of Primo Lift. There is no other mtn, maybe other than Aspen that you can see the entire valley, the 14ers, and the other Big Resorts from. Quite the impressive resort, sunlight is. 10/10 Would definitely bring friends!
