Just started Alpine skiing last year. I have gone past Purgatory my whole life to get to the Nordic center for cross country skiing. I finally am skiing it on downhill skis! The resort lends itself to a great learning progression. I have had friends to guide me, but I highly recommend the ski instruction available on the mountain. It is a little bit of a flatter mountain once you become more advanced. There are excellent powder pockets and tree runs if you know where to go. Its an awesome local spot with far less traffic than comparable east slope Colorado resorts.

True locals mountain, offering weekday season passes and payment plans for the paycheck to paycheck crowd (me). Lots of diversity of terrain, ample snow and lots of sunshine!

A great place for tree runs especially if you know a local You tend to do a lot of traversing at purg so knowing your way and making short cuts just make the riding that much better..

Purgatory is a very fun resort for all skiers. Groomers, park, moguls, and trees are great when the mountain gets snow. Tree runs on the far side are a lot of fun. Try to go during the week after snowfall for the best skiing experience.

Purgatory is probably my favorite mountain in the four corners. Its huge area offers something for everyone and the runs to the backside are especially beautiful

I have been skiing at purgatory for 11 years (since i was 3) and i just cant get enough it feels like home and i dont wanna ever go anywhere else. its so fun for all age groups even thought the mountain is more for intermediate and up, their bunny hills are still really fun and i still like to fly down them when im just looking for a good time. the people are really nice and there is a hottub and game room and their food is also very good. i 100% reccomend this place but i know this is silly but i wish there was an ice skating rink. if you are an expert this mountain would be an absolute playground and if you are a beginner they have a wonderful ski school program you just gotta get with the right person

Purgatory being a local has some amazing things and some things that can be improved. Purgatory needs to go check out other mountains like Copper in regards to how to efficiently run lift lines. We are far away from anything so the mountain still has a local feel to it. Overall, good mountain to ski!
