I learned how to ski and Bear Valley Ski Resort and I think it was truly an amazing experience, not only is it my home mountain because of that but because I know
I can go there and meet knew people and feel extremely welcomed by the people there. The food is on the expensive side but its worth it in my opinion. Overall rating of the resort is a 9/10

Bear valley is nestled of Hwy 207 the shortest state highway in the lower 48., off Hwy 4. This ski are brings a verity of terrain. Form the ski into the village to skiing home or cabin at the end of the day. It has beginner to advanced terrain with wonderful tree runs scattered all over the place. Its also home to the great grizzly bowl. A challenging area on the lower half of the mountain for both advanced and expert riders. It is very family oriented couple with a wonderful ski school. The apres ski hits hard with its newest bar at Maurys salon. A great place to be with small lift lines and an energy that just feels like home.

Last season my family went to Bear Valley. It was a lot closer to where we lived and it was a lot cheaper than other resorts. Being both closer and more affordable while still holding itself against the more expensive resorts made Bear Valley a resort that we will definitely be going to often.

Bear valley is your classic family resort. It is nudged in between the great slopes of Tahoe and the falls of Yosemite. Bear valley is your quiet ski resort with over 1000 acre of slopes. Overall I have been skiing here for 10+ years and have been to many of the USs most popular resort and this is my favorite.

Bear Valley is a family friendly resort. The natural layout makes skiing easy for families. Small lift lines and spread out terrain makes for great skiing.

Alot of variety can be experienced in this resort. A back side helps spread people out across Bear Valley!

I felt BV is a good bargain. It isnt very crowded and is scenic. I wish their lodge were renovated and that the food was better at the lodge eateries. Also, I think ski and snow board rental desk could have been staffed and more organized than it was on my visit. Apparently an attendant took a lunch break and there was no one there to relieve her/him/they. The runs were nice. I would return to BV if I wanted to save money over Tahoe, but Tahoe offers better runs and nicer food/accommodations.
